HASH(0xa1c249e4) out of 5 stars Spoilers in the review Nov. 19 2012
By amf0001 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Now I love Cardeno C, who is an automatic buy and a frequent reread for me. And I love this series. But I did not love this book. If you've never read any Cardeno C, I can highly recommend He Completes Me (Home Series) and Home Again

Spoilers ahead

However, in this book, I just didn't get it. Andrew and Caleb are childhood friends (their mothers are sorority sisters), then they discover they are both gay, then they are friends with benefits, they are intimate both emotionally and sexually, and somehow they don't realize that they are boyfriend material for each other? Okay, they were young and had to sew their wild oats. Then they live as housemates for 3 years without having sex at all, before finally, finally seeing that they are lovers. I just couldn't take that journey with them, I didn't see why they were hesitating or why they hadn't figured it out 5 years earlier. It was just odd - especially as they had sex all the time for years... And that whole Drake thing, so clearly wrong and inappropriate, well it just added salt on the wound. In the end, I just shrugged. This relationship didn't speak to me and the angst felt completely forced.

So while I love Cardeno C, this one didn't work for me.

HASH(0xa1c24a38) out of 5 stars Worth the Wait!!! Nov. 14 2012

What can I say? I love Cardeno C!! Always looking forward to another book and this one was no exception. I loved it!! The series is one of my favorite re-reads. It is fun seeing the characters from different sides and how their lives go around each other. I always wondered about Drew in past books and now I finally know about the body mods..LOL!!

This story was so cute and frustrating all in one. You wanted to strangle both of them. I have to say I have never laughed so hard with how campy they could be. It was great!!! It was great seeing Noah and Clarke, Nate and Jake (well just a little of them), David and Jonathan

I highly recommend this book actually the whole series. You really need to read them in order to understand the characters because as I said the characters revolve around each other. Can't wait until the next book!!!

HASH(0xa1c24d14) out of 5 stars A captivating love story of everlasting loyalty, friendship and love. Nov. 13 2012
By Shirley Quinones - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the much anticipated story of Andrew and Caleb. They met when they were 8-years old and rekindled their friendship during a summer at the age of 14. From this moment on they are each others confidants and best friends - his yin to his yang. They were as different as could be, but regardless of that or because of it, the bond that they forged was unbreakable.

Their bond was strengthened throughout the years. It started with their love of video games and music. Then evolved with the sharing of family secrets, sexual orientation and sexual experiences. As they matured, their connection grew with each failed relationship and every sexual encounter they took part in. It faltered with the pain, loss and guilt Andrew dealt with after his boyfriend's death and soared and stood its ground when they finally accepted what was right in front of them all along. They were in love. That sometimes elusive happily-ever-after kind of love.

Andrew, after having experienced the pain of betrayal that caused their parents marriage to fail, was determined to find his Mr. Right. That permanent person who would be there with him sharing the good, the bad and the ugly. His search for that person was heartbreaking and every single time a relationship failed it chipped at his soul. His only salvation was Caleb. The one person he could count on to be there. To patch him back together so he could get back out there to resume his search. A never-ending cycle of new found love, betrayal and heartache. It broke my heart to see him go through this. I couldn't decide if I wanted to smack him upside the head or hug him tight. And this could only mean one thing - he got to me and I could not help but love him.

I loved Caleb too, but I didn't feel that need to save him. While I saw Andrew like a brother, Caleb was the best friend I always wanted. He was funny and sarcastic just as much as he was adorably insecure. He cracked me up with his fashion sense and the roll of his eyes. I loved his choosy ways, he reminded me so much of myself. He found the smallest fault with the guys he dated and chalked it off to the fact that he wasn't looking for his Mr. Right. Of course, I didn't believe that for a second. I reasoned that he knew in his gut that no one would measure up to Andrew.

And of course, the chemistry between these two was awesomeness with a cherry on top. Like a keg of Diet Coke I savored each and every encounter. Their lust, their need and their bond were very palpable. They were in sync with each other knowing what the other needed without being asked. With touches and kisses, with each nip, pinch and whispered word I was melted into a puddle of goo.

Cardeno C, once again, did a splendid job in bringing this story to the page. The journey throughout the years was an enjoyable one. To see them growing from teenagers to wonderful men was a joy to me. Their friendship and devotion, Andrew's struggles, their lust, emotions and acceptance of each other was beautifully weaved together in a way that truly made this story real for me. The dialog was both entertaining and revealing. The events that took place throughout the story were perfectly placed to have their proper impact on the reader. I was grinning with happiness each and every time they got together, screaming at them to get their heads on straight and crying my eyes out with each betrayal and each painful thought.

This has become my favorite of the Home series books. My expectations were met and then some. Thank you CC, my excruciating wait was well rewarded. I couldn't have asked for more.

HASH(0xa1c27240) out of 5 stars It's just not believable Nov. 30 2012

To think that these two kept this relationship going for more than a decade, and the last several years sleeping in the same bed, well, sorry, I can't believe that people that blind or emotionally stunted could actually exist. The rest of the book is nothing but a long ( endless, boring) list of hook ups, with each other, usually. The other books in this series are entertaining--this one felt like, I don't know, doing homework, maybe.

Positively phenomenal! A unique spin on the friends to lover theme with an amazing relationship-based story.

Andrew Thompson and Caleb Lakes meet and become the best of friends while young teenagers. The story takes us through the next 20 years of their lives as they maintain their status as best friends with benefits. The question is whether or not they can ever move past this point.

I loved both of these very well developed characters. Caleb was sweet, charming, an amazing friend, and a very strong person. It was adorable how he always had to be dressed to perfection. Andrew is brilliant, graduating from school early and ultimately becoming a top neurosurgeon. He's extremely kind but also very lonely due to his brilliance. He longs for a permanent relationship, but repeatedly chooses men who cheat on him.

However, when he and Caleb don't have current boyfriends, they take advantage of their amazing sexual chemistry. All of the amazing sex scenes took place with Andrew and Caleb. Even though they both had other boyfriends throughout the story, it was mostly told to us through discussions between Andrew and Caleb. There was a lot of dialogue in this story, which is something I enjoy, and a good portion of it was told while these two were engaged in sexual activity.

It was hard to imagine enjoying a story where the two lovers aren't truly romantically involved -- at least in their eyes. To the reader and their friends, it was obvious these two were meant for each other. However, the author managed to make me believe that their relationship worked for them, and thankfully there wasn't a lot of angst in the story. I almost wanted things to happen faster, but in all honesty, they weren't ready for it. By the time they figured it out, I was crying happy tears!

If you enjoy an amazing friends to lovers with benefits theme with great dialogue, strong characters, and an interesting life journey, this more than fits the bill.
