Kings of Leon return with the release of their highly anticipated fourth album 'Only By The Night' on 22nd September through Columbia Records. 'Only By The Night' is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Kings of Leon's position as one of the most important international acts of 2008 and beyond. It follows rapidly in the footsteps of the bands previous albums 'Youth And Young Manhood', 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' & 'Because Of The Times', which have quickly established them as one of the most prolific and acclaimed acts around.

These boys were not content to rest idle on the twang groove... they step to new styles with each new album, and they do so with unmatched competence. Now - I'm not a fan loyal to a specific sound, I'm loyal to the talent and to the imagination they bring to the sounds they choose to explore.
If you're looking for Molly's Chambers, Knocked Up, My Party, Four Kicks, or California Waiting, you're definitely going to be disappointed. There are elements of those tunes on this album, but these elements don't define the experience. Instead, you'll see these new songs as a natural growth for the Followill Fellows.
The predominant flavour of the album is mood, a nice meandering jammy sticky sweet mood. The album is experimental yet accessible.
Reading some of the reviews, I see a lot of disappointment -- I hope you don't let that prevent you from discovering a solid album. It's a keeper -- I guarantee you that these hooks will stay strong for the next 5-10 years. This is something rarely accomplished by young bands these days, so take the risk and get the disc.
The quality of the sound is very good.
Worth checking out.
Kings of Leon was on the verge of making this great record for a while, as their previous work dabbled more on the indie rock side of things. The songs just weren't there earlier in their career, no matter what the scenesters say.
This album is rock and roll, not no trendy indie crap. And that's why it's as good as it is. "Use Somebody" is an example, that track is timeless, and one of the few songs that will stand the test of time from this generation.
Grit, heart and soul is what makes this album better than the rest of rock and roll right now. It's unique, and it's honest.

Dont bother buying the vinyl, just buy the CD. This vinyl is clearly the digital recording converted back to analog, sounds fine but no different from CD.Published on March 5 2013 by Stephen McCracken
Really easy listening CD, very enjoyable. For any of you who are a "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans,
pretty sure some songs from this soundtrack will be in the movie. Enjoy!
