Product Description

“The urge to contact an old boyfriend should be approached with extreme caution, I always say,” begins Dublin girl Aislin Moore...In this breezy romantic comedy, twenty-something Aislin, a shopgirl, suspects that her life is seriously stuck in neutral. All she needs is a man…or to be precise, a father.

Not for herself—as a single mammy, she’s completely estranged from her scruple-impaired dad, and plans to keep it that way. But her daddy-hungry son Kevin has been without one long enough…and she’s determined to succeed at motherhood, even if the rest of her life is a bit of a disaster. So Aislin follows the mad impulse to track down the perfect father-figure for her little boy: who else but Ben Carpenter, Kevin’s real father.

She's determined to keep things platonic, especially after their truly awful breakup seven years ago. But Aislin has a way of mucking up her most inspired schemes. Sequestered with Ben and Kevin in the Irish countryside, she finds her chemistry with Ben is stronger than ever…then her father’s unexpected gesture creates a seismic shift in their relationship too. What should she do? Ignore her father, or take a chance on forgiveness? Cool it with Ben, or take a chance on love?

Aislin discovers that even if you’re a commitment-shy young mother, you can still create your own fairy tale ending.

I like the story but I found it too wordy. Why not just tell Ben he is Kevin's father. She took too long.

HASH(0xa45371d4) out of 5 stars charming Oct. 24 2012

I found the book charming, sweet and some surprises. Somewhat long in Aislin's going back and forth in her thinking about her dillema. I did enjoy it and would like to visit with the characters again.

HASH(0xa45c0e28) out of 5 stars So Charming! July 19 2011
By Miscpatsy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
What a charming novel! I was reeled in from the first paragraph and couldn't wait to see what happened to the heroine, Aislin. Truly loved the cast of characters and their banter back and forth. I felt completely transported into the lives of these Dublin residents. If you're a fan of Marian Keyes, this one is for you!

HASH(0xa4624150) out of 5 stars Reading This Novel was one of the best reads in a long while. I shall read it again! And Again! Nov. 10 2015
By Marion R. Spicher - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I know five stars bothers some folks, but I don't review novels I don't like, and usually only review the ones that I find fabulous. I absolutely was enthralled by this book. Readers talk about being hooked in page turning mysteries, but this romantic comedy had me laughing and crying, pulling for the characters with all the power of my affections and hope. And I could not put it down. I have met and enjoyed many moments of conversation with the author, but for some reason I didn't get around to purchasing one of her books. Finally, at the Chanticleer Author's Conference in Bellingham, WA, Susan Colleen Brown and I connected again, and I finally bought this novel. I loved the characters, and I was taken deep into their hearts and minds as they pushed through internal barriers, and a few external ones, to do the right thing. We can relate to the troubled journeys through stumbling blocks in every life, left by childhood sorrows and misunderstood anxieties that won't let go ... and the delightful ending, though wonderful, made me sad that the story was ... well ended. So now it's on to her next book ...

HASH(0xa46279e4) out of 5 stars Predictable story March 31 2015
By Humble Gal - Published on Amazon.com

I usually enjoy books based in Ireland. Unfortunately this was not one of them. Asilin is the main character, around 25 years old. Never married with a young son, Kevin. Asilin tries to be a good mom but she is pretty immature. She decides to contact the babies daddy through his mother. Neither the baby's daddy, Ben or his mother know there is a child. You know from the point Ben shows up in Ireland they will get together and be wonderful parents for Kevin. Unfortunately it takes about three hours of reading to reach that point.
