First off, this glass is of the highest quality I have come across. Not only is it perfectly flat, it comes packaged extremely well. When I opened the box, I saw a clear plastic edge and I immediately expected disappointment because in that instant, I assumed I was looking at the edge of the screen protector. Nope, it was the edge of the packaging which held all the contents inside.
I work with mobile devices during my day job, and some of the screen protectors are shipped and packaged poorly. I've seen several shipped in cheap sleeves which allows the adhesive to be bent back and dust/dirt & sometimes chips happen. Not the case here.
The packaging was perfect and sandwiched between tight fitting well engineered plastic halves with bevelled edges to allow for bumps along the way and preventing disturbance to the the glass sheets. Inside the sandwiched plastic layers was a styrofoam sleeve with the sheets of glass, cleaning supplies and instructions. Thank you for packaging this so well Orzly... I will be a return customer. Probably not for a while for these screens because I nailed it the first time and have another as a backup.
In my professional experience with applying these types of protectors, and it might sound weird, but go into the bathroom, shut the door, run the shower on HOT until the room is steamy. While the room is steaming up, take out the screen you're going to use but leave the peel back film in place... just have it ready and clear of obstructions so you can grab it fast when it's time. Next, clean the device screen with a microfibre towel to remove smudges and any persistent fingerprints purely by wiping gently until gone, then apply the alcohol wipe to the centre and in a circular motion move outward, but not to the edges. The room is getting quite damp now and you don't want any of the alcohol to find its way into a speaker or edge of the factory screen. Finally, using the included silky screen cleaner, wipe thoroughly to ensure the surface is dust free and streak free. The room should be very steamy at this point. Turn off the shower and peel the protective tab and lay the glass on the Switch's factory screen exactly where it should be. Let go. It will do the rest. There's no need to press on it or anything. The Switch has an extremely flat screen so bubbles should not appear unless there is dust sandwiched between.
If you followed my advice, it was tedious but worked out perfectly.
The reason for running the shower on hot is because the moisture in the air created by the steamy shower pulls the dust down. That's why you do the prep while the shower is running. The humidity will only improve the adhesion and give you a better result.
I wish you luck, but you won't need it if you do exactly what I said above. Unless there is a defect with the glass, you will get a perfect application every single time with this method.
I was able to complete a perfect application within 5 minutes start to finish using the above method. I haven't applied a screen to a phone or tablet in over 3 years, but I nailed it 3 years ago and again today, and where I live is inherently dusty year round. Due to the environment, pets and slight laziness on my part.
