Product Description

**This book can be read as a standalone, but don't stress original MC Sinner fans, your favs are all there!**

I am the good girl, the one who does no wrong.
Daughter to a ferocious and strong MC President, I know what protection feels like.
Until one night changes everything - and not a single person in the world can protect me from it, not even my dad.
Suffocating. Alone. Desperate.
I let my problems live deep inside until there is no longer anywhere to run.
I need an escape. Anything to make the pain go away.
Trouble comes for me, and I don't fight it.
I tried so hard to believe in what I was,
But nobody understood.
Not until him. Not until Lucas.
He sees me. He believes in me.
He refuses to let me drown.
He’s my way out. My escape.
But Lucas is forbidden. He’s a cop. I’m in danger. And my father is trying to protect what can’t be protected.
There can only be one outcome.

MC books are some of my favourites, especially ones written by Bella Jewel. I have to be honest though, when I read that the guy was a cop and not in the MC I was a tad hesitant cause I like my men alpha...boy was I ever glad I got the book....Lucas Black is one hot alpha, dirty talking bad ass....loved him hard and I really loved brave and selfless even though she didn't think so.
Highly recommend this book and the three previous ones from the first generation....already awaiting the next book. ❤️

Ok - wow!

This is the first that i have read for this MC series, and WOW!

Ava is a happy woman, who loves her family, enjoys her job - to a certain extent - and the MC she grew up in.

Until her innocence was taken away from her. Her perception of good forever tarnished and tainted.

Lucas is broken - a past that haunts him.

He becomes someone he never thought he would be or ever have again, after the pain he endured in his past.

It was such a gut wrenching story of two lost people finding each other, if only from unusual circumstance, to become the unlikely of confidants, and working their way to becoming more.

Their chemistry is off the charts. Their story is heartbreaking at times.

With the odds seeming as though they are against them, they try to overcome everything that was thrown against them.

A riveting, captivating, story, that was extremely hard to put down!

Was this really written by Bella? Is it a joke? I've read all her books and this seems like it was written by a totally different person. The story was awful. AWFUL. Almost every other chapter was a flashback so you basically have to read two stories at the same time for 80% of the book. The author never reveals the connection between the person who abducted her and her father's club. Or his connection with the other girl who was taken. I don't u understand how Lucas and Ava fell in love suddenly. It made no sense. And the dialogue was SO cliche! I kept waiting to read "You'll never take me alive, Copper!" It was so disappointing!

HASH(0x9bff2e70) out of 5 stars A must read!!!!! April 25 2016

I am so excited that the Next Generation series has arrived!!! I was sad when the Sinners MC series ended. I was not ready to say goodbye to some of my favorite characters. Cade & Spike define Holy HOTNESS. You don’t have to read the Sinners MC series to understand what is happening in this book, but you should just because it will add to the story and will make you feel more invested. The Next Generation has some big shoes to fill.

Book 1 is Ava & Lucas’s story. Ava is the daughter of the club president, Jackson. She loves her family and the club. She has a very close relationship with her father which is so sweet. She understands club life since it's in her blood but it has never affected her in a harmful way until now. Instead of relying on those she loves the most, she tried her best to protect them and the club. But there is a cost.

Lucas Black is a cop and he is so hot my kindle almost melted. He could be my “Shadow” any time he wants. My heart broke for him while reading his back story. Lucas is a good cop and takes his job very seriously. He has questions and needs answers. He won't stop until he gets them.

When Ava & Lucas first met they are both running but for different reasons. That night, Lucas takes such good care of her that you feel for him instantly. We watch as Ava attempts to cope with the events during an life-changing experience. She is trying to protect her family & the club, handle a douchebag for a boss, and find her way back to who she once was. A person can only take but so much before they start to fall. Luckily before she hits rock bottom, Lucas is there to catch her. Lucas may be the knight wearing a badge and carrying a gun but he also has some demons that are still haunting him. Together they will face obstacles that could end their relationship before it can even really get started. And let's not forget cops & bikers don’t mix…

This is a might read if you are a fan of the Sinners MC or the author herself. If this series continues to be as good as this book, I will be one happy reader.

Ava and Lucas (Luke) meet after she just endures the worst moments of her life. She is abducted by someone bent on revenge against her father and he makes her choose either her life or the other girl he has abducted. Ava has to make a heartbreaking choice and is left to deal with the fallout. Lucas is still recovering from his own personal hell and doesn't know if he is strong enough to take on Ava. While Ava starts to lean on Lucas after finally coming to realize that the bottom of a bottle or drugs isn't going to take away the trauma, only mask it. Lucas tries to keep himself separate from Ava because, not only is he a cop, he is still searching for his missing ex-wife. When Ava reaches rock bottom and Lucas comes to her rescue they begin a romantic relationship. Lucas keeps his secret hell still hidden and Ava is too insecure to ask or demand that he tell her his secrets. When her overbearing father (come on a 24 year old who has to answer to her father on where she is and when she is home) discovers their relationship he goes crazy and fills Ava's head with garbage about Lucas. Ava realizes that she should trust Lucas but is so hurt by him and her father that she lashes out. When the father of the girl who was killed demands that Ava tell him exactly what happened, she breaks and Lucas is the only one who can comfort her. When Lucas finally tells her whole story, her father is devastated and her mother is having a hard time coping with how bad things were for Ava.
There were parts of this story that bothered me, the first being how over-the-top her father was with her. He treated her like a 5 year old and not a 24 year old. Lucas called her "kid" from the beginning and that bothered me that he continued it after they started a romantic relationship together, it felt creepy. I was also bothered by the fact that neither her father, nor Lucas, had a problem with her walking to her car alone, even though they both knew she was still in danger.
There were some moments that were a little far-fetched to let me fully embrace them. I also didn't feel a great connection between Lucas and Ava in their beginning and had a hard time seeing them as a couple. He seemed to flip a switch and decide that he was falling in love with her and she with him but I must have missed what triggered it.

I love this author and always one click her and I will continue to one click her books. This one was good but just missed it with me. I loved the plot but something just did not come together with it. I loved reading about the original members. Cannot wait to read the next one.

HASH(0x9b3a8c00) out of 5 stars Struggled with this particular story line Jan. 29 2016

I have read all the books in the series before this and I struggled because it's been awhile and I was like who are these people. And even with mention of the parents I was still like... but who are these other people.I think the story would have been more meaningful to me if I could remember who everyone was.

That being said. Ava is suffering emotionally and I get it. But watching herself drown herself in a bottle for a lot of the book kind of depressed me and honestly made me think little of Lucas. And it's my own bias from my own life and the people I know and interact with and watching people latch on to lovers in a downward spiral. It's not romantic to me. And it's a me thing not necessarily a story thing.

But I historically and still do like Bella's writing. I like how she tells a story and generally like her stories. They're not a hard read and do have a cast of fun characters. I just struggled with this particular story line.
