Product Description

New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, delivers another delicious Dark Romance.

"I'm not the hero in this story, girl. You'd do best to remember that."

At eighteen years old, I was murdered.

I wish my tale ended there.

However, my killer resuscitated me and sold me to the highest bidder, sentencing me to a world worse than Hell.

For the past two years, I've lived a life of torment as a man's property. I suffer in silence and wish for freedom, but I never break.

I can't.

I won't.

But then he arrives.

The first stranger since I was killed.

Elder Prest, a thief with a heart as black as his soul, arrives as a guest in our twisted home. He has business with my owner, but his interest lies in me. He pretends not to notice my bruises and hides his knowledge of what I am, but the way he watches me makes me feel more human than possession.

As his eyes tear through my walls and his voice demands answers, he challenges my owner for one night with me.

I've survived two years of torment because I no longer believe in hope, but Elder is the only man who promises me pleasure instead of pain.

Trusting him is dangerous, wanting him is deadly.

Is he my ticket to safety or my ultimate end?

Whoever he is, whatever he wants...I can't say no.

5 "When No one becomes Someone" stars!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge fan of Pepper Winters. I am completely obsessed with this author and her mad skills with the written word. And yes, I do stalk her ass on social media!

When I saw that the first book of her Dollar series was available:

gimme

oneclick

Mr. Prest. Elder Prest. Yes, I am absolutely in love with this character. Gaaaaaahhhhhhh! He made this freaking book. He was the epitome of an anti-hero and totally won me over from the start. Was his heart pure? No. Did he have the greatest of intentions? Not so much. However, the code he seemed to live by instilled in him honour, respect, and integrity.

Tasmin/Pimlico. My heart broke for this unfortunate young woman. The horrors she face, the despicable abuse she had to endure, each scene showcased her inner strength, stubbornness, intelligence, and perseverance.

I am so excited about this series and cannot wait to see what is in store for Elder and Pim.

OMG what a book, what did I just read !!! Pennies is the first in the series of books by the brilliant Pepper Winters. In this book she goes back to her dark roots and takes you into the pits of hell and despair that will pull at your heart strings in more ways than one.
Tamsin is kidnapped on her birthday to be sold to the highest bidder in an auction, the life she has known is slowly fading away the longer she is held hostage, and knowing her chance of being found is fading fast she start's to write on toilet paper to "no one" to put her feelings down and we get to read this. Master A buys her for an extraordinary amount of money and fly's her to his home - her prison of hell and what happens to her at his hands is shocking, life changing and desperately sad to read. Sometimes through the book I actually had to re read parts because I just could not believe what I had just read - this book is very dark, very brutal so be warned !!
One night Master A has a very important guest coming to his home, enter Elder Prest and as soon as this man talks you know he is special, he has a presence about him, but also you doubt him as well at first and then you find yourself hero worshiping him - a strange feeling to be honest. I found myself putting all my faith in him and pleading deep within myself that he is a better man than Master A. A connection of sorts begins between Tamsin, now called Pimlico and Mr Prest that can't be ignored - well for him at least, and your left to wonder if Mr Prest will become her saviour after he discovers how she is being treated by Master A or is he just as evil and wicked ?
There were parts of this book that were actually painful to read but I couldn't put it down.

This book was written by a Phenomenal Author, Pepper Winters. I kind of figured what it was about, but let me tell you nothing and I mean nothing prepared me for what lay in those pages. There were times that I had to stop reading, because I felt like someone had my guts in their fist and was squeezing. Tasmin was kidnapped at the age of 17 from her mother's party gala by thugs who worked for Millionaires, who then bought these girls as Slaves. The horror of what happens to them was frightening and those beautiful young girls would never be the same again. The brutality and sadistic ways they were treated was horrific to the point that it made me sick to my stomach.I did love Tasmin because she was as strong as a character I have ever read about. She went to hell and back with her buyer Master A, but him and his sick perverted friends could not bend her will. She became a shell of the girl she use to be, but her spirit remained strong. The Author Pepper Winters gives her warning at the beginning of the book, so to all who get ready to read it, just know this is not a romantic love story. This is the first book in a series of 5, and I don't care how long they take to come out because I will never forget Pim. I am looking forward to reading the next 4, because I need to see those Bastard's Die for what they did.

I'm done (pun intended). Spent. Still trying to breathe around the rage, fear, and myriad of other emotions evolked by Pim's plight. Only once before has a writer pulled me so deeply into the pit of depravity we call human behaviour. Deeply disturbing on so many levels. Pepper's eloquent prose leaves us with no choice but to embrace our own inner demons while exploring one of those questions fundamental to our existence ... Is there any possibility of redemption?

I've recently discovered Pepper's books and love this type of story. She weaves a story like a tapestry. I read Pennies and upon finishing immediately purchased dollars and preordered the next three books in this story. You want to feel sorry for Pim but find yourself admiring her strength and rooting for her to become whole and come out on the other side with Elder at her side.. well done Ms. Winters
