There are a lot of plants but not a single mushroom, which is fine. I would just like to see the uses of the plants more accessible rather than hidden in the notes section. Or at least put a bullet point for each individual note so you can easily scan through them. Other than that, this book is perfect!

The book was exactly as stated. I am happy that it came and was on time, considering it came up from the US. I regretted getting rid of my mom's book and am so happy that I could replace it. 😄😄😄😄

This book is amazingly useful, including ecological as well as important cultural information about the flora of coastal British Columbia. I highly recommend! Leaving 3 stars because the seller sold it for $40 when the book's suggested list price is $28

The BEST book for coastal BC! Well organized, good photos and descriptions, plus notes on traditional use by aboriginal peoples. A bit larger than a typical field guide (28 ounces), but it's very comprehensive. Don't go in the woods without it!

The Ultimate Reference Guide

This is the ultimate reference to plants of coastal BC. I certainly wish there could be room for more photos of each plant at different stages of growth to allow for a better chance of identification. But alas, it is a thick guide as it is. You need this, and then can get other more specific guides like Samuel Thayer's excellent books on foraging or on trees or whatever your particular interest is, this is a nice broad reference to have on your shelf or in your backpack.

Hands Down Best Purchase!

Frequently roaming and living up and down the coast from the Hoh Rainforest down to Northern Oregon this book has proved invaluable! Thorough with clear descriptions, pictures, and sketches that allow you to easily identify most any species you might run across west of the Cascades. It might not fit into your pocket but it's worth the little extra weight adding to your backpack whenever you go hiking. So delightful sometimes I read it even when I have no need to look up a particular plant. Makes me fall in love with places I live and venture over and over again.

I have a fairly large library of books for plant identification and this is my favorite. This is the 2nd one I bought. I wanted the updated version though it is about 10 years old

The pictures are big enough to really see what's going on with the plants. The information is terrific and useful.
