Great interviews. Great stories and insights from very talented musicians. This book is really captivating and hard to put down. The interviews for the most part were conducted in the 1990s and early 2000s. Though one interview with the late and very great Bill Evans took place in the 80s. Though the interviews may to some seem dated. I read them like they were current. This is because the magic in music is timeless. Approximately 50 interviews with top players grace the pages of this book. People like B.B. KIng, John Lee Hooker, Santana,Ginger Baker, Phil Collins , ChesterThompson, Chick Corea,Billy Joel, Chuck Berry, Eddie Van Halen, Bill Wyman, Vernon Reid, Keith Richards, Ray Manzarek and many equally impressive musicians. I love this book.

Too bad there's not a more recent book like this around -- I keep looking and not finding more books of "rock" guitarists talking craft... But, it's still a nice read.
