So. This is not a very helpful product unless you have copious amounts of ducttape to secure the(very slippery) material under your bed. Really, I'd advise taking a pass on this one. The picture is pretty accurate, but it doesn't mention that even a box of tissues is too heavy for it to stay secured under your mattress. Not at all worth the money.

Great for keeping clutter off the bedside table and out of sight, but still accessible. However, similar to others' reviews, it tends to slip from between the mattress and box spring. (I'm sure some safety pins would fix this problem, though.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Here's a tip to make it work! May 25 2013

Like many, I would have given this product a 1 star review too, but something told me not to do it. Something told me this is one of those stupid things where you realize it is you who is the dummy and not the product. The way this organizer works is that there is a flap that you slide under your bed, and the unit is supposed to stay in place. But like many have reported, once you add items and weight to it, the flap starts to slide out. There is not enough friction or pressure from the bed. I figured I could use some sort of large clip against the side of the rail, Velcro, double sided tape, etc. But decided to take a closer look at the product itself. I found out that at the end of the flap hidden inside the fabric is a thin bar. Well I felt this bar before, but never paid much attention to it. I just thought it's there so the flap won't be completely flimsy. I decided that there might be a purpose to it. I had a hunch. So I bent it and sure enough, I was right!! It's bendable wire/bar!! I think the purpose is for you to create traction for your bed. I bent a few V-grooves, you know like the peaks and valleys of a Chinese hand fan. Now when you place it under your bed, you've got traction. I've added weight to the organizer and it stays in place.

Now there are no instructions. Makes me wonder if my discovery is an unintentional benefit. If the intention of the "hidden" bendable bar is to allow you to create traction, then why were there no instructions? So many people are giving this product 1 star reviews because this feature, intentional or not, is not obvious. In any case, follow my tip and you'll get good use out of this organizer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible design...very disappointed Sept. 2 2015

It looks just like the picture no complaint there. But it can't be clipped anywhere, it comes with a flap you're supposed to put between your mattress and bed frame. If you have a text book that weighs about 2 pounds (like any normal hardcover text book) and there's nothing else in it, it's going to fall. 2 pounds will drop it. Very disappointing. Also the tissue box holder will only hold flat and narrow rectangular tissue boxes, will not work for the squarish looking ones, I know this because my tissue box wouldn't fit. Overall a very bad design. I guess it'll be okay if you use it for storage but don't expect it to support anything while hanging. I'd be very surprised if it did.

3.0 out of 5 stars It would be better Aug. 24 2013

The caddy slipped out from between my mattress and box spring as soon as I placed it so I made an adjustment to it. I applied Velcro dots to the caddy and box spring and now it stays in place and I am able to use it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Convenient & Sturdy Nov. 9 2010

I'm quite happy with this purchase. It keeps my bedside organized and is helpful when waking up in the middle of the night to know exactly where my tissues/glasses/cellphone are...instead of blindly grabbing at the nightstand. It stays relatively out of sight. Great for organizing a cluttered nightstand. I would give it 5 stars for functionality. The only complaint I have is that if the contents you place inside are too heavy, it has a tendency to slip from between the mattresses and sit on the floor. A few bobby pins keeps it in place.

5.0 out of 5 stars This caddy is well made and nicely designed. Watch out for fake versions. July 13 2016

If you get the actual item, it is well-constructed, out of reasonable fabric (not canvas - kind of a canvas texture on outside and slicker on the inside - which I think will be good for keeping it clean). I haven't tried bending the metal bar (thumbs up to the reviewer who suggested it) because I decided to just fold the flap over the side bar of my bed frame and tie it on which is currently working out ok for me. It fits a 160 pack of Kleenex perfectly (the standard size). The bottom floor and back wall have a rigid board in them so it holds its shape well. The mesh pockets are not flat and the ones on the sides are large enough to hold a small remote, small note pad, or cellphone.
Based on previous reviews, and my own experiences where it took me 4 purchases to get the right item, there are definitely sellers selling fakes. If you get one that doesn't have the metal bar, the rigid board in the bottom or back wall, mesh pockets that don't have a bit of volume (see the curve on the top of the mesh pockets on the photo), decent fabric (these are inexpensive but the fabric is reasonable - like a lightweight inexpensive backpack)... make sure you don't have a fake. The fakes I received were in a cellophane envelope. The real ones were in a clear plastic pouch with a glossy cardstock photo and the Richards Homewares information. The fakes were also cut smaller than the Richards version.
It will organize some of my bedside clutter and put the Kleenex box within consistent reach - that is really what I wanted.

I added some photos after receiving my third fake - in the photos the tan item is the real one - you can see the packaging next to it - the black item is folded in quarters for shipping (and actually some of the fakes I received were fulfilled by amazon so that is not a guarantee of getting the real item). The blue kleenex box fits perfectly in the tan one (which holds its structure even when empty) and the kleenex box is both too wide and too tall to fit in the fake black organizer - the black was hard to photograph because it is badly creased and has no structure (it is a very inferior material and it is hard to get it to stand up at all) but the phone that is next to the pocket on the black organizer is the exact same phone that actually fits in the corresponding pocket of the tan organizer (I couldn't even stick a corner of the phone in the pocket on the black one). My suspicion is that a lot of the bad reviews of this organizer come from people getting really bad fake items. You will notice that a lot say they don't have the metal bar in the flap (which would also keep it from folding in quarters). Both items that I got that were not fake had a stiff floor and the metal bar. Basically if you can fold it in quarters, it doesn't have a metal bar, if the material is terrible, if it doesn't have the Richards Homewares insert, if the mesh pockets are tiny and flat to the surface, if a regular kleenex box doesn't fit, if it doesn't hold its structure reasonably when empty - you probably got a fake and I feel for you. I am placing my 4th order trying to figure out how to get another item that is not a fake. I have been reviewing the sellers so anyone I have received a fake from should get a 1 star rating from me. That being said - none of my reviews (which are over a week old) seem to have impacted any seller ratings yet so I am not sure if that will help.
Just received yet another fake from a different (hopefully - maybe it is the same seller under different names) - I have given up on buying this from Amazon sellers because I have just had 4 knock-offs from 4 different sellers (that were not shipping from China - 2 of which were fulfilled by amazon all of which were middle of the road prices) - I have no idea how to get a genuine version any more.
