Product Description

I had it all: an adoring husband, supportive friends, thriving career, a homey condo in the city.

Amend that.

I had it all except for love from my family. But life was good because I had him. Max was everything I dreamed a husband could be and somehow he loved me just as wildly as I loved him.

Until one cruel night he was stolen from me.

Then I had nothing but a vicious battle ahead of me. It’s a struggle so treacherous, I’m not sure if I’ll make it out with my heart in tact. But on the other side of that brutal war waits the most wondrous prize.

Will I allow myself to move forward?

“Move on? How could you move on from the big love of your life? How could you let go of the best memories of your life? There was no magical device to rid your memory of the only person who truly made you feel worthy of love.”

I don’t even know where to start....this book did so many things to me. I laughed, I cried (many times), my heart was happy and sad. One of the most heart-felt stories I have ever read. Olivia’s writing is so genuine. The characters in her stories are so real and relatable.

“Yes I want her. Yes, I will have her. But I’m smart enough to know that we can’t have any sort of relationship until she’s ready.”

We have met the two MCs and the side characters in Olivia’s previous books, something I love!!

Olivia has a way of connecting her books together! It feels like a family reunion whenever I read them. The conflicts and anguish that Violet faces in Point of No Return is so emotional. You cannot help but to feel for her, to want to hug and hold her. Cam...Cam...Cam...where can I get me some of him??? He is strong, caring and hot!! The story between Cam and Violet is a fast-paced, emotional ride. Love is not one-sided, and Olivia gives us both Cam and Violet’s point of views.

“The time we spent apart was the sternest test of my patience. Tell me it’s over. Tell me we’re going to be together now, the way we’re meant to be.”

Again...totally in love with Olivia. I am obsessed with everything that she writes. Point of No Return is no exception. It is flawless and addictive. I could not put the book down...I read the book twice in one week. Point of No Return is a definite must read!

HASH(0xa19d87d4) out of 5 stars A sweet second chance romance <3 July 18 2015

Received copy for my honest review for Fallen for Books Reviewers.

"Move on? How could you move on from the big love of your life? How could you let go of the best memories of your life? There was no magical device to rid your memory of the only person who truly made you feel worthy of love."

This is the 1st book I've read by this author and I truly enjoyed it. I had no idea there's a previous book before this, but it's safe to say I didn't feel like I had no idea what's going on - I'll definitely be reading Stella and Blake's story.

Told from a dual POV, Point of No Return is a beautiful second chance romance which follows Violet's tragic life after the sudden passing of her husband, Max. When we meet her she's a shell of her former self, with no direction in life and no chance of healing her broken heart. With the help of her best friend Stella and her partner Blake, Violet soon finds herself something to fight for - a new job with the prestigious Chicago Scrapers hockey team. Here she meets Cameron, the team's assistant captain and goalie who becomes one of her best friends and a shoulder to cry on.

Violet is a great romance heroine - even through everything she has endured, she's a strong, capable woman. She has a dark/terrible background - not everything was flowers and rainbows growing up, but she moved passed that and she didn't let it define her. This book is mainly about Viloet finding herself and allowing love back into her life - opening your heart to someone new is the only patch up your broken heart.

"Fall with me Violet. I'll be there waiting, always, with my arms ready to catch you. You'll never hit the ground when you've got me."

Cameron or Cam as everyone calls him is an incredible hero -he's sweet, attentive, patient and most importantly, loving. He lets Violet decide for herself and is there when she needs someone to talk to. Him and his dog Rocky are totally worth fighting for.

What I loved most about this story is that it felt 'real' - Violet didn't jump at Cam right away, their relationship grew over time - they went from acquaintances to friends to lovers. Although Cam is a famous playboy he acted like a regular guy in this book - he played hockey, trained, watched movies and played with his dog - I noticed a trend in hockey romances and that is to have the hero act like a douche, like he's the most famous guy on the planet when in reality, even with the increasing popularity of hockey you rarely hear about them in the papers - I applaud Olivia Luck for staying true to what an athlete hero entails.

One thing I will complain about is the small editing mistakes I've noticed, but nothing that should hold you back from reading this book.

"You're not ready for me yet. But when you are, I will be here waiting for you. My heart is wide open for you, Violet. It always has been and always will be."

At first this book moved very slowly. But it brought tears to my eyes and with that much feeling, the slowness is smooth as silk.

Violet, a woman handed much tragedy in her life. A year after her husband passes away. She's told to move on but the grief still holds her. It's as if the idea of someone else, would mean she would have to forget about someone, someone who meant the world to her.

Cameron is a Goalie for the Scrapers. He's usually the player type, never wanting to settle down! But he sees something in V that he doesn't want to let go.

This was such an amazing story, I didn't want to let go. When choosing a book to read, you never know what to expect. The tragedy in the very beginning, set the tone for most of it. I loved that I got to see Violet grow. A woman who lost her way, the grief surrounded her. But eventually she realized she couldn't always be that way. She wouldn't let go of Max, she never would. She became more confident and more aware of her abilities.

Not only is this book about finding love again. It's about family, you don't have to be born into it. It's about the ones that truly care, heart and soul for you. Your friends, ones that are truly your brothers and sisters. Life is never easy, sometimes you get the low blow. But it's about building your life again, on your own terms.

I have a lot of respect for Cameron, given his lifestyle before Violet. He knew in his heart she was it. After I was finished I was happy to find that there were other books in this series. Though this is a standalone, they interconnect. I love that a lot, deep down I was not quite done. I didn't want this story to end. I read this within a day. It was amazing. Maybe I'm a sucker for love stories, but this was more.

This is the first book I've ever read of Olivia's and I can't wait to read more....Lissa

I thought Blake’s story was wonderful but this one blows it out of the water. Cameron is just ugh the perfect book boyfriend. He sees Violet from afar when she was getting engaged and she blew his mind. How? The way she reacted to her fiance. She didn’t look at the ring but him. Over time he found her to be more intriguing and wonderful. When Violet loses her husband and comes to work for the Hockey team Blake owns that Cameron is on he is patient and kind to her. Cameron doesn’t jump right in but becomes her friend and a safe place for her. He gives her encouragement and kind words, listens and is a shoulder for her. He’s amazeballs. The writing is one in which the characters and their emotions drive it forward so that you are engrossed in what is happening in the here and now and how they are feeling that you have your emotions evoked as well. Violet is the mess. She is still trying to figure out who she is and where she belongs. She is still not moving on when Cameron comes into her life. With his help she realizes what she wants. She opens a business and begins to live again. She sees a reason to want to move on. Her feelings are confusing for her though and she feels she is harming her feelings for her deceased husband. This book is her journey into acceptance of his death and moving on to become a stronger version of herself. To forge new friendships, find family, stand up for oneself and find love. It is her new beginning. She realizes family is with those who support and love you for you and don’t try to control you. She sees that people make mistakes and they pick up and continue on. She sees that she doesn’t have to let go of her deceased husband to let someone else in her life but move on and make room for someone in her heart. This is done mainly with the help and kindness of Cameron- who is patient and sweet and totally understaning, but also her brother in law who at first is a douche but once he become true to himself and lets go really becomes a brother to violet, Stella who gives her the support and space she needs to figure things on her own, Felix who is the comedy relief and the support she needs to feel safe, her in laws who accept her as family even after they lose their son and show her that love doesn’t come with conditions, and herself for opening her eyes and facing the truth of her situation. This is the story of Cameron showing who he is and that fate and patience play a role in his life and love. Who helps Violet see that you don’t need to let go but move on and open yourself up to new worlds and experiences. Each character plays a role in helping Violet move on and find her voice and peace of mind. This is the heartwarming story of a man who is famous wanting more with a woman who enthralls him and blows him over with who she is on the inside and how he is kind and patient with her and helps her see that love is patient and understanding and over time gets the girl of his dreams. The story will capture your heart and keep a smile on your face as you take the journey of Violet moving on and finding love with a amazing man named Cameron.

5 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review!!!

One cruel night took away the only man Violet had ever loved, Max her husband. A year later Violet is trying desperately to move on with her life. As Violet is learning to live life without her husband and build a career; Cameron enters her life. Can Violet open up to Cameron? Can Violet find the strength to move forward?

Point of No Return is a beautiful romance that will have you in tears. I was truly looking forward to Violet’s story and Olivia Luck did not disappoint, in fact she surprised me. She took a spin on the story that I wasn’t fully expecting. I could feel the pain and hurt Violet was feeling at the loss of Max; she was battling to not only move forward with her life but to keep her personality. I love the support network of friends she had around her, without them the battle would have been even harder. Cameron is a down to earth sweet guy; you could tell his feelings for Violet were 100% genuine. Dominic and Paige are two characters I battled with in this story. I wanted to feel for Dominic because he too was grieving; however it was frustrating how he was towards Violet. With Paige her attitude and demeanour towards Violet had me wanting to slap her!

I'm a believer that sometimes in life we have more than one soulmate who is meant for us and this story is proof of that; with time if we can learn to live with the loss and open up our hearts we can love again and in return find someone who truly loves us.

If you love contemporary romances with suspense and emotion you will love the Point series by Olivia Luck. This can be read as a standalone but to fully enjoy the book I recommend reading the two previous stories’ New Point and Pressure Point.

Point of No return is the third book in the Point series . They are all stand alone with connecting characters and they are all excellent !! If I have to choose the best one , which is a little "Sophie's Choice-like" to me, I have to say this one is perfection!! (But read them all !!!! )

Violet has left her controlling father and family behind and has made a beautiful life for herself with the love of her life, Max. She has a wonderful group of friends and they and Max's large Italian family become her new family ...all is good. Then on one horrible night all of that changes and she now has to find a way to survive without him. This story finds us a year later and also finds Violet afraid to be happy , afraid to move on with her life.

"That guide to mourning would really come in handy now, I think numbly. Really I am making it up as I go. One day I am drowning in grief, and the next I am making a slow climb to peace. None of it seems right."

Cameron is living every bachelor's dream. He is world's best hockey goalie, he is wealthy and handsome but has a hole in his heart that was left there years ago when he first saw Violet. Who knew years later he would have a chance to win her heart. If only her heart was ready to receive his love.

"I'm not a man to admit fear, but in this instance, I've accepted that Violet has all the power now. The depth of my emotion for Violet scares me the most. There's no end to this kind of all-consuming love. There's no other woman who could captivate me - mind, body and soul."

"Fall with me, Violet. I'll be there waiting, always, with arms ready to catch you. "
*heavy sigh

This book is story perfection. Each and every character has a palpable soul and a reason for being. No stone is left unturned. At the end of this book you will feel so completely satisfied that everyone's deepest emotion has a place and we as the reader can feel them all. Violet both breaks and fills your heart as you watch her transformation. Cameron's strength and conviction assures you the he will do whatever it takes to protect Violet from the dark.

I would be remiss if I do not mention how Ben made me smile...you'll see!!!

And if all else fails there is a puppy!!!! Can't go wrong ..ever... with a furry friend!!!

Bring on Iris' story !!! Thank you Olivia Luck for another must-read !!!
