From Proverty to Prosperity A Ghetto Exit Strategy as a Rite of Passage

Phenomenal, Jermaine Jones relates the struggles of being raised in the ghetto to become a very successful man. Jermaine Charles Jones gives the keys to opening the locks. Charles includes deep, provocative - critically thinking questions "Black males have been set up to fail extensively in America. School systems have given up on them, mainstream society has disconnected away from them, and as a result, prison systems are welcoming them. What would you suggest needs to be done immediately to counter this crisis? Answer with precision: As a product of a low-income environment, if someone does not detach themselves away from the pains and strife they have endured from their past, will they ever be able to move beyond the expectations of the "hood?" What type of effects will this have on their life? Answer with precision." Mr. Jones highlights the unfair government restrictions and how they suppress, limit, and dictate how poor blacks live. Too, he highlights how media (white dominated) continually stereotypes in a disapproving manner and creates a class divide among blacks. He talks about how afraid his friends were to physically leave their environment, cognitively leave as well, to visit him in college. Jermaine describes and models his success of leaving the ghetto. His keys are seeking spiritual guidance, creating a plan, gathering education and using it, making a solid effort to separate from individuals who are dead weight and breaking free from public assistance. He states to highlight negative energy and execute it! It is an eye-opener for the successful white CEO's and business owners, rightfully losing their power and statue they were given, today. It gives them knowledge of an unfair struggle just because you are born in a ghetto. I am honored to have read his book and will distribute to all. I will be using it in the college critical thinking, and success strategies courses I teach at the master and doctorate level. This book is a MUST read for ALL Americans!
