HASH(0xa7e0d924) out of 5 stars Great study book March 10 2011

The lessons are focused, and easy to understand. The parts of speech are explained thoroughly, with good examples. This is a great book for anyone who needs to understand the basics of English grammar, including native speakers. The Practice Makes Perfect series is the main set of books I use as a teacher/tutor.

HASH(0xa7e855f4) out of 5 stars Best ESL Books July 5 2012

I teach ESL to Spanish speaking students. I've gone through many different ESL books trying to find the best tool. In my experience, I've found the Practice Makes Perfect books to be among my favorites. They're written in a workbook format and include many sentence writing exercises. I use them all for my students.

HASH(0xa8445e88) out of 5 stars Good Series Feb. 25 2013
By Robert Geller - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This series has been useful for my students for a year now. I appreciate the way exercises get more difficult. I also appreciate the answers at the back as some exercises are close calls and some students love to argue. I understand the concern with the book being boring, but I mix the class up with conversation and vocabulary work. I find a useful level of vocabulary in this series.
I think the pricing is a great value.

Someone recommended the Practice Makes Perfect Series to us and we have purchased many books in the series to the delight of us and for all whom we have made these purchases on their behalf, and this book is no exception, We note, though, that these books are not only useful for ESL learners. These books are also very help for English as a First Language peoples who are simply many years later from their times in schools and want to reference a good book for refreshment of rules and good grammar, so really this series we find to be for us a good choice for all. And, those using this book amongst us, like its formats and presentations and practice guidelines, so no complaints here. Thank you, Amazon. Blessings.

HASH(0xa7e87528) out of 5 stars Great book series for learning English Grammar. May 20 2012

Great book series for learning English grammar. Easy to understand and well written. You'd have to be a near moron to not be able to figure out the explanations and examples. These books are much more effective if you have someone who understands English grammar therefore these make for an excellent learning tool.
