With its single zipper and Velcro attachment, this insulation kit is a snap to install and/or remove from your pets Log Cabin home. Our insulation kit is constructed of a durable two-layer canvas cover, which is removable and machine washable, and three layers of polyfoam to provide added protection from cold, wind and moisture.

(note: before putting on the dog flap door, put liner in first, so you can know exactly at what height to install the door. I installed the door first and then had to adjust it afterward because I didn't take in to account the liner height. The flaps can get caught up when the dog enters the house if it's not at the right height and will not provide the proper protection from the wind and cold.)
Make sure your door is on the same side as the pic. I ordered everything at once from Amazon and never ever thought about comparing the pic of the dog house to the pic of the insulation kit.
Update! I could get this to work by turning it inside out. I had also bought a heater ( http://www.amazon.com/Hound-Heater-Deluxe-Cord-Protector/dp/B005ZEVYIS/ref=sr_1_6?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1419936636&sr=1-6&keywords=pet+heater+outdoor ) that had to be mounted to a wall, so I had to end up cutting out a portion of material and foam insulation to accommodate that. With the crazy sub-zero Arctic Canadian air coming tomorrow I did not have time to bother with returning and replacing. I did find another kit with the door on the correct side at http://www.hayneedle.com/product/premiumhotdog.cfm#. I put a thermometer in the house and with the modified kit, the hound heater, and a plastic door flap it was 40 - 50 degrees inside, while it was in the teens and dropping outside.
We have a stray cat that we tried bringing inside last winter. He marked everywhere. I mean everywhere!!! As soon as it got warm in the spring he was sent back outside. I've since bought him six houses from five different manufactures. Some have heated beds, some have additional insulation, all have fleece blankets, but this is by far the warmest one, without being uncomfortably hot with his thick winter coat. Of all the houses we have bought him, the only one he won't use is the Trixie 3 story cat house. KatKabin (with insulation), Kitty Tube (with extra insulation kit & heated bed), K&H heated and non-heated houses, and now this new Trixie dog house are so far his faves.
