Pride is the second book in the Elite Seven Series and didn't disappoint in any way. Very well written, full of anticipation and tension with lots of unanswered questions still hanging in the air, this book follows on from Lust by Ker Dukey.
This is Mason's story and what a story it is. It never let up the whole way through, I felt myself rooting for Mason and his sister Evelyn and the traumatic upbringing they both had to endure through no fault of their own, it really made your heart ache for them both. I enjoyed both of these characters, for whatever Mason had been through all his life he has always remained focused and strong, always wanting to do right by his sister and take care of her. By joining the Elite he thinks he can make a difference, but trouble is just around the corner, in fact every turn he makes something comes back to bite him in his a$$.
Megan is the light that enters his life. She comes from a background totally opposite from Mason's - can someone who is so different be so right for Mason; can she make a difference to his future. I really liked Megan, she is sweet, strong and sassy and of course she has a darker side that fits perfectly in this book.
All the characters and books are interlinked and flow into one another really well. I can't wait for Wrath the next installment to see what happens to these young men. Brilliant !!!
