Where this book does come in really handy is the primal substitute category and dessert category - there are things in there I would never have thought of making in a hundred years. I've only tried a couple, they were both good.
It's not as slick and beautifully photographed as many of the newer paleo cookbooks, but it makes up for that by having a lot of solid recipes that work; it is also nice that there is a photo for every recipe, which is a big deal to me for cookbooks. I haven't made some of the baked goods/substitutes that are featured in the cookbook (pancakes, bars, etc), so I can't really comment on those. That section isn't very big anyway, so I wouldn't get this cookbook hoping for a lot of substitutes for grain-based treats like bread and cupcakes; there are other paleo and grain-free cookbooks that focus on those things.
Overall, I recommend this cookbook to those just starting out with paleo/primal, and especially those that don't have very much cooking experience; for a beginner cook, it's hard to beat the simplicity of a lot of the recipes, as well as the detailed instructions and tasty results.
Took a look through the book and there are some great recipes to get you started on your 21 day program to a new life style of caveman eating for health and wealth!!!
Looking forward to digging into so e recipes soon!
