HASH(0xa44646fc) out of 5 stars Great set March 21 2010

These measuring cups and spoons are good quality. The collapsible feature is nice. The magnetic feature is a two-edged sword. While it helps to keep the spoons and cups together, being magnetic makes them stick to everything, which becomes a bit irritating. Some of the smaller cups do not remain upright when sitting empty on the counter top due to the weight of the handles. Probably another downside to the magnetic feature. Overall, the quality and price make this set a good buy.

First the positives: I like the design and collapsibility of the cups. I like the magnets- they're all on the side of my microwave in easy reach. But, if I try to hang all the cups nested together, they're too heavy. The measuring spoons hang well. The biggest problem is that even having the utensils for only a few weeks, the numbers are washing off the measuring spoons. I will have to try to write them on with indelible marker.

I had a set of measuring scoops, with measuring spoons on the opposite end, but I was tiring of them---they were both more cumbersome to use (since both the "cup" and "spoon" functionality were stuck together) and took up a lot of space, forever sliding around my drawers.

I saw a more inexpensive version of this set at Walmart, but it did not have the magnetic aspect that these do to hold themselves together, thereby keeping them more in place in your drawers, and it was not that much cheaper than this set.

I love using the measuring cups---it's really neat in how they pop up the way they do. I also find the magnetic functionality really amazing---I do not stick them to my fridge, as some do, and therefore do not have issues with them falling down or anything (really, I would think having them on your fridge is kind of......odd-looking). In their place in my drawers, they are great space savers and do the job when you need them.

Both the cups and the spoons seem sturdy and that they will hold up for a long time. Definitely an innovative, quality product!

This is a great set of measuring cups and spoons at a phenomenal price. They come with just about every size you could ever be called on to use, and the magnet is quite possibly the best change to measuring devices I have seen in some time. The magnets may not be strong enough to hold the entire stack to the side of the fridge, but I don't believe that was the initial intent. Instead, they hold them all very nicely together without the pesky ring (I LOVE IT!).

I deducted one star --- and this is my only complaint -- because the printing on the handle seems to be wearing quite quickly. I've employed these for a little over two months and I hardly use measuring cups. Further, I hand wash them to protect the print as best I can, but it seems to be in vain. If I had known this, I would have painted over it with some nail polish to protect it, but it's a bit late now. If Progressive could put even a thin layer of clear plastic over this print, they'd have a leading 5-star product.
