A good idea, an easy to read book, a nother vision about project management.
Buy it ! Read it ! You will find ways to improve your Project management practice.
However, for all of its attributes it has one major flaw. That is the fact that the book is meant only for business professionals. By having such a limited scope, it is disappointing that some of the assertions made in it cannot be extrapolated to other fields. If the scope of the book were larger, it could reach a much wider audience and possibly have a greater impact.
That being said, if you are one who works in the business world, a project manger in the business world, or a business owner, you should take a look at this book. It could wind up being an invaluable resource.
Project Management Battlefield: Sun Tzu’s wisdom on project management by Puneet Kuthiala is a book on strategy, one stacked with powerful insights, wisdom, and strategies that can help any business management profession to get the results they need. The author uses the wisdom from the Art of War by Sun Tsu and explains how it can be applied in business.
In these pages, readers will find natural laws that allow them to harness project management skills and get results. The book is simply written, with language that is very accessible to the ordinary reader. It’s not surprising that anyone who implements the wisdom in this book can transform the way they manage business projects, eliminate stress, and boost productivity and results.
The specific guide here though is to have a new look at the Project Management Body of Knowledge and ways that The Art of War can be directly tied into it. Kuthiala has worked in IT for over a decade and has written multiple works on Project Management at this point.
I can't give it a perfect score as some of the writing seemed a bit forced in making comparisons or points but overall this was not only an enlightening read but an enjoyable one as well.
Worth picking up if you're looking to add another project management book to your collection though I'm not sure if I would recommend it to new project managers as was one of the selling points of the work.
