Product Description

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Douglas, comes the latest New Adult romance with a bit of everything...friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and a somewhat interesting use of public places.

Misha

I can't help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever...

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there's one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name's Ryen, loves Gallo's pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don't expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn't written in three months. Something's wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I'm going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It's my own fault. I should've gotten his phone number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn't even know it.

*Punk 57 is a stand alone New Adult romance. It is suitable for ages 18+.

Penelope has done it again! This book is different then her usual style but she still manages to produce a hit! The different levels of emotions that flow through this book are so relatable to teens and adults alike. It reminds me of the saying, you can't love someone else if you don't love yourself. So many people struggle with these feelings and while some manage to get through it, others don't! I'm happy with the way she showed her characters growth through out the book! I really enjoyed Ryen and Misha! 👍

I have been waiting a long time for this book to come out. Finally I have it in my hands and I read it within twenty-four hours. I just couldn’t put it down, it was so good. Now that I’m done, I don’t really know where to start. Penelope Douglas always amazes me with her words. One of my favourite authors, I have all of her books. This one is no different. It may actually be one of my new favourite of hers besides Corrupt. The storyline is so well done. So complex, but not enough that you get lost and don’t know whats going on. Everything comes together in the end. This is the perfect balance of a great story, perfect characters with dynamite chemistry and amazing dialog.

I’m really not going to give too much away. The synopsis give the perfect setting as what to look forward too. Misha and Ryen were paired up as penpals in fifth grade. It was only supposed to last the year but they continued on, becoming best friends. They could tell each other everything in their letters without any judgement at all. They were who they were and they loved each other for it. When they got older and social media became the norm, it was harder for them to not look each other up or even run into each other living only thirty miles away.

One night at a warehouse party, Misha comes across someone with the same name. He can’t believe it’s her. She’s here in the flesh, but he doesn’t like what he sees. She’s nothing like how she describes herself to be written on paper. And, now they have come face to face with each other. He has to act like he doesn’t know her and she has no idea that he’s the one she’s been writing to for seven years.

Like I said, I am not giving anything away.

So this is only my second book I have read by Penelope Douglas and I can say that I really did enjoy this book to a certain extent. I thought it was well written and I loved the premises of the story line which was strong and enjoyable but for some reason it dragged in places at times which made the reading slow for me. I did want to find out what was going to happen but I was in no rush if you know what I mean.

The characters were likable and strong and their connection was good - I really liked Misha from the off but Ryen took a little more warming up to. With strong secondary characters, some of which we were introduced to in Corrupt by this author, they all made for good reading time.

The blurb really sells this story so I don't think I need to go into this very much - but what I will say there was a really unexpected twist near the end, which I for one did not see coming at all - nope totally blinded, would never have guessed it, so that ramped it up for me.
What I would of like to have seen was that twist maybe explored more and bought out into the story line, but because it was so close to the end it was impossible for that to happen; in my opinion if it could have been - it would have added to the quality of the story for me - only my opinion.

A good all rounder that I would recommend - liked but not loved !!!
