Then I got this Vital 200. It is beautiful, as far as air purifiers go; nice industrial design. It doesn't have a digital numeric display, but since it has such nice design, I can overlook that on this one. It still has air quality colour codes, mind you.
It is very quiet; at normal setting, I can't hear it where I sit across the room. I CAN hear levels 2, 3, and 4 (with 2 being reasonable, but 3 and 4 being quite noticeably louder, of course). In sleep mode, I can't hear anything at all, and its display turns off so the light doesn't keep you up at night.
The pre-filter is so good to have. You wouldn't believe how much that thing catches! Having the ability to wash the pre-filter is awesome, extending the life of the non-washable filters.
Easy to operate, and can be controlled using the VeSync app on your phone.
So far, I would highly recommend this air purifier. I've got it in a room that's about 320 or so square feet, and it's perfect.
If it acts up or breaks down, I'll come back and edit this to let people know. Cheers!
This one seems to do a great job, albeit I'm using it in a room smaller than it's designed for. It's great for my bedroom, runs so quiet that I rarely hear it except for when it kicks in at higher speeds when I'm dusting, vacuuming, or doing anything else that kicks up dust. For the fire smoke it does a pretty good job, I'm very sensitive to it due to asthma and it's been keeping me fairly good. I still smell the smoke but it's nowhere near as intense as it would be without it running. The HEPA filter is great and seems to last a good amount of time and the cleanable screen is nice to have.
I live in an old apartment with a whole array of smells. I also have a long haired cat that sheds like a mad man. I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I was so impressed with how well it cleaned my air but it wasn’t until today I realized how amazing it truly is. I was cooking in the kitchen and burnt my food a tiny bit. Within 3 minutes I got a notification on my phone that the air quality was poor and the light on the machine turned red. I right away turned up the speed so it could clean the air fast and fast it was. What a great feature.
Trust me, you need this in your life !

I initially bought the Vital 100 and put it in our bedroom because I have terrible allergies. It collected a ton of dust and helped a lot with the allergies. I thought I didn't need the smart version but in hindsight the availability of specialty filters and the remote control would be very helpful. It's relatively quiet although on high it's too noisy for me to sleep with. I absolutely love that you can turn the all the control lights off. We tried using this for the cigarette smell but it wasn't very effective except when the smell was very light. It did completely abolish cooking smells though. If I could go back in time I would have ordered the 100S instead but this one works fine.
The smoke smell from the neighbors comes into our house through the laundry room which is a very small room. I bought the Core Mini to try to combat it. The Core Mini doesn't really do much to get rid of smells and was definitely overwhelmed by the smoke so now we move it around the house now when the pollen level is high. It works ok for dust and allergens but the range isn't great; you need to be right next to it to notice a difference. On low and medium speed it's barely audible and high is relatively quiet but overall the fan isn't very powerful. The lights on this one automatically turn off after a few seconds making it bedroom friendly. If I could do it again, I would have skipped this one and bought one of the larger ones sooner.
Lastly, in an attempt to mitigate the smoke coming from next door, we got the big boi Vital 200S with the add on smoke specialty filter. So far it isn't able to completely remove the smell but it does cut down the severity and will clear it eventually provided the source stops for long enough. It's amazingly quiet on all 4 speeds and the fan moves a ton of air around. I'm disappointed that the auto mode doesn't detect the smoke smell but I can use the app to turn it to high speed as soon as I smell it. You don't have to use the app but it's really easy to set up and connect. The app allows you to set schedules which is really handy and as I touched on earlier, it works as a remote control. As with the others, you're able to turn the lights off completely so it's good for bedrooms. We've only had this running a few days but I'm pretty impressed with what it can do.
Not so great things that I wish they’d develop or get rid of:
Adding ability to control locally through Bluetooth (or zigby or z-wave) and not only through wifi and the cloud. This was problematic when internet was cancelled or interrupted. Thankfully they kept their schedules, but I had to run them on phone wifi hotspot to access them through the app. The base units work manually, but will keep the schedule in the app, unless you do a full reset.
The app room arrangement doesn’t really work, and their readings don’t exactly match or refresh. (But this is in development, but probably won’t take off.)
I do not like that the app can be an bit invasive on every part of my privacy/life. Like trying to get me to buy into their health tracking logging what I eat, or making it mandatory to set location etc. in setup. The ploy to be there for health to basically gain marketing data. Too many apps and even work apps play this game and it’s a bit deceptive marketing data gathering. I’m totally techy smart home and software junky, but there’s a clear line that is getting crossed. The company sends me prodding emails to track my health. I cannot get rid of the icon in the app, wish it wasn’t a part of this.
That was negative, Back to positive. Because they are fantastic. I’ve watched every YouTube video on all the brands repeatedly. I now have 4 of these and a few smaller finer filter ones from Medify, and two Winnix 5500’s. The Levoit are hands down my favorite. They are quiet and easy over wifi. I’ve turned my non-smart Winnix to smart by adding switch bots to them, but the Levoit are smart from the start. The smaller med brand one cannot be turned smart as there’s no place to put switchbots on them. They get too loud in medium and high, so I will not buy that brand again, keep with the Levoit. (Possibly try Austin Air someday, but that’s just more money.)
Levoit is Not glitchy. A favorite feature when I’m cooking in the kitchen is the number and color reading. It shoots up so fast when cooking certain ways or foods. It’s funny because a Winnix will turn orange or red in a heartbeat when I pour alcohol in a glass 4 feet away in front of it! But it doesn’t provide a number, which the Levoit 600 shows.
These filter the air so well, that when I drop peppermint oil at doorways or spots in a room (deters spiders and I think ants, I use a lot on a sailboat. Works like a charm), if my Levoit is running, it removes the essential oil smell too fast. Way too fast. It’s a battle I will not win if I run these air filters, because they work so well.
