The first six weeks of a school year are crucial to laying down that foundation that will serve you the rest of the year. This book reminds you of all the things you should be doing and gives you all the resources you need on a silver platter. I come back to this book every year without fail because it helps make me a successful teacher, and easily so. Upon using the strategies and resources laid out in the book my first year of teaching, I was told by colleagues and parents alike that I appeared more like a seasoned professional than a newbie. No compliment made me prouder that year. The best favor you can do for yourself as a teacher is to purchase this book and use its efficient, convenient, organized, tried-and-true strategies without having to remember them all (or locate all your checklists and templates) yourself. Let Kelly Bergman do the heavy hitting. All your essential bases will be covered. Big fan here.

What an excellent resource for both brand new teachers and for veteran teachers alike! The graphic organizers were extremely useful for keeping me organized. I even had a colleague positively comment on my organization this year, which has never happened before. At first glance, it may not seem like the resource for "seasoned" teachers, but I'm encouraging every teacher to purchase this book because as you delve deeper into the book; the tips, ideas, and templates are ready for immediate use. Furthermore, I find myself consistently referring to the book throughout the year. Trust me, you don't want to pass this one up!

This book is a must read for new teachers or teachers wanting new ideas! There are so many different things that need to happen during the weeks before school and after school has started it can be very overwhelming. After reading this book and using the helpful tips and resources, my first year was a success. I was able to begin the school year calm and ready for my students. It's a wonderful tool to have at your fingertips!
