Would you like to lighten your load on travel? RAVPower Filehub WD01 will be a good choice.

1) Bridge WiFi and share network with your families and friends securely in hotel or other public places. And it also can extend the WiFi a little at home or office.

2) Recognize your sd cards, usb sticks, and hard driver on your devices (phone/tablet/laptop) via new App "rafilehub plus". (Appstore in iOS device, Google Play Store in Android device).

3) Stream and share smoothly movie, music, photos with your families and friends at the same time.

4) Save much more space for your device (phone/tablet/laptop), except for Windows Phone.

5) Charge your device: It has 3000mAh power bank (5V/1A) with polymer battery for emergency.

We also provide another good resolution for you to "expand" the limited space of your smartphones and tablets. Four choices for you as below:

1.) USB 3.0 flash drive with lighting connector (iOS OTG drive, HT-IM001/002)

2.) Travel router and wireless streaming device (Android/iOS support) - TripMate Nano (HT-TM02)

3.) Travel router, power bank, wireless streaming device (TripMate Titan/ Elite, HT-TM05/06/01)

4.) SD card USB reader, travel router, file manager, wireless streaming media - RAVPower Filehub (RP-WD01/WD02/WD03)

And you can plug HooToo flash drive to USB port on Tripmate and RAVPower Filehub to work perfectly together.

Notes:

1)It work with Windows file system (NTFS, FAT16/32, exFAT) for now, but did not support for Mac formatted hard drive. 2)Due to the limitation of the Apple iOS system, you can ONLY access the folder "photos" on your iPad/iPhone; Filehub is unable to sync with media files stored in iTunes to USB storage devices due to digital rights management (DRM).

While the idea of using this device while traveling is cool, I bought it primarily so I could use it to stream videos from a SD card to my TV via AppleTV.

I followed the instructions in the manual--charged the device, turned it on and downloaded the app. The app wouldn't recognize the device. I tried it on three different Apple devices. None of them would work. I tried a million different things to figure out why this device would not connect. I was sure this thing was not working and would need to be returned.

Turns out, what the manual doesn't clearly state is that you have to go into your iPhone settings, go into your Wifi settings, look for the device in that list and choose it as your Wifi network. Then the device is recognized. (I was able to finally figure this out thanks to a YouTube video.) I had assumed you connect the device through the RavPower app.

Finally, I get it working and I tried to steam via AppleTV. And while the video showed up on the TV screen, I was unable to watch it because it would buffer every few seconds. Maybe there's a fix for this, but I was exasperated after trying to get the device to work, that I didn't attempt to figure it out.

I will say, I can see how this really will be great to use with an iPhone or iPad.

There's no question this device does with it says it can do. It's a great extra power supply, and transferring and streaming files works well and is fast.

The downside is two-fold. It doesn't have UPnP or any other file server protocol, so if you want to use it as such you'll be out of luck.

Secondly, the app you watch the streaming videos on doesn't allow for background audio (keeping the audio of the video playing when using other apps on your device). It's not really a problem because it can interact well with VLC for iOS, but just having to go through the extra step of downloading it to VLC is annoying.

But it's still am extremely useful and practical device. I would definitely recommend.

If it also gave me device storage data I would go 5 stars. I bought it even though I wasn't sure it would do what I needed, but it does! I am travelling with an ipad and a camera. I want to be able to back up my SD cards onto a small hard drive (I am using a Western Digital Passport 2Tb drive) but I won't have a computer with me. Opened the box on arrival. The device is smaller and lighter than my drive. Charged it up using my ipad wall wart and the included cable. Downloaded the app AirStor on my ipad. It generates it's own little wifi network. Went to Settings and Chose the Filehub network. Inserted an SD card, plugged my drive in and was able to easily transfer files! Well worth the $45. But I wish it would say how much space is available on the devices. I'm not interested in using it as an extender for rug rats in a car so I cannot speak to that.

Awesome thing. I used it during a couple flight. I have a lot of movies that I ripped on my computer from old DVDs, and I have all those movies on an external HDD. During flights with the family, I bring this in the plane in a bag with the HDD, start it up, and the family connects there tablet on it by wifi. We can all wath the movies so the flight is way better. Missed battery after 5 hours (2 movies on 2 tablets). I guess an SD card would last longer, since the HDD draws a lot of juice.

It does a lot for the price! I will be using it constantly while travelling and I'm very happy to have such functionality. I do however wish it was faster. I've got a high end sd card and high end hard drive but the transfer rate is painfully slow. Would look into getting a faster one next time

I echo other reviews, this is an extremely well designed and constructed device. Most reviews on gadget sites comment on the fact that the FileHub can serve files, video and music to a wifi connected smartphone, tablet or computer. It does that well as it has built-in wifi. However for the photographer it does more.

I was looking for a solution when on vacation to be able to backup photos from the SD card in the camera. Up to now I travel with a netbook but with its case and charger, the netbook weight almost 2 kg. Now my kit is down to under 800 g with 7" tablet, AC charger, the FileHub, an Anker buetooth keyboard, and neoprene sleeve. I'm down to 1/3 of the weight of the netbook and with a much smaller package to fit in a day pack.

The FileHub has the footprint similar to a smartphone and a bit thicker. It has an SD car slot and a standard USB port. There is a micro USB port on the side just for charging. There is one button to turn on/off and 4 lights (on/off, wifi, SD card, USB stick). The device has an IP address of 10.10.10.254 and a password of "11111111" (eight ones). Log in with a web browser on a PC, phone or tablet and follow the steps in the wizard to setup an admin password and a wifi connection SSID, username, and password just like a wifi router. To backup photos, insert your SD card and the destination USB card or external portable harddrive. Turn on the device and on the phone or tablet, look for and connect to an SSID starting with "HUB...".

There are apps on the Play store and itunes store to operate the FileHub, but my experience with Android is the ES File Explorer app is a better choice. It is free and is even suggested by RAVPower.
