I bought this book for my dad on his 90th birthday. He spend 43 years with the CNR and worked at a number of stations featured in the book. Well researched and written.

HASH(0x9ef80e1c) out of 5 stars A nice overview of Canadian railroading in the praire provinces Nov. 6 2013

A nice history of Canadian railroads in the praire provinces. One problem with the Kindle version is that in some chapters the alignment of the text. The bold headings in the subsections overlap the first few words of the first paragraph making them unreadable.
HASH(0x9f3211a4) out of 5 stars He absolutely loved it. The prairies were of April 24 2015

I purchased this book for my father following a summer vacation across Canada by train. He absolutely loved it. The prairies were of prairies were of particular interest to him since he grew up in an area with similar typography. Despite his extensive knowledge of the area covered in the book, he was constantly sharing information that was new to him from the book. Great gift for the Canadian rail enthusiast in your life.
