Review

The juicing phenonemon is set to take the world by storm. Daily Express --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Joe Cross is an Australian filmmaker and entrepreneur whose personal journey of transformation was chronicled in the award-winning documentary “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead,” which to date has been viewed by more than ten million people around the world. Joe’s journey to reclaiming his health and vitality through a 60-day program of consuming nothing but the fresh juice of fruits and vegetables--“liquid sunshine,” as he calls it--inspired millions of people to follow his example. Joe created Reboot with Joe (www.rebootwithjoe.com) to provide information and tools to a global community of people eager to “Reboot” their lives. This book is Joe’s complete, easy-to-follow plan, which includes advice, tips, and insights into the emotional and physical effects of a Reboot.

Joe lives between New York, New York, and Sydney, Australia. His next documentary will be released in 2014.

I'm excited to write this review. If just one person reads it, gets this book, and does the reboot - then it will have been worth my time writing it.

I'll start by saying that I got this book when I was already on Day 14 of a 30 day reboot. I could list the benefits, the weight loss, the lower blood pressure, the sheer benefit of having done this - but there are many testimonials elsewhere and the film "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" is available for free everywhere.

Which is where I will start this review.

The author is not some sales-person that has a product to pitch. Joe doesn't tell you where you can go to get healthy in three easy installments. This entire "movement" seems to be the work of someone that was already successful and just wants to share his findings an experience to help....YOU!

The book begins with an overview of what a reboot is. The benefits, the stories, the challenges, the obstacles. This is good information. You won't feel alone when "the first three days suck" and you will know the difference between a blender and a juicer.

Once this section has motivated you - you are given some detailed strategies for success. A proven plan that you can follow. Short-term goals, longer-term goals. For health of all types.

Finally, the book then gives you some recipes - which are great.

The area of the book that delivers some of the best value is actually at the very end. Storing and preparing the juices. If you follow a juice reboot, you will (in my experience) face the greatest challenges when you are not near your juicer. Fast-food is convenient food, but it's not good food. You need those juices close at hand!

Love the book, love the colour coding "orange, red and green smoothies". Love that the transition is also included as well as some meals to keep you going "plant based" only if you so desire… really like the guy and his initiative.

It met all my expectations. Quick read with many recipes and shopping lists. I would recommend this book if you want a quick understanding of how juicing works for any number of days. His 7, 14, 21 and even 60 day plan is in the book along with recipes.

This is an easy to follow introduction to juicing. I use this book a lot when I need to reboot and focus on healthy eating. The reboot plans are excellent and well described. I found it easy to read and I keep going back to it often.

I LOVED the movie yet underwhelmed with the book despite how much people LOVE this book. I can't seem to find the love for this as much as Jason Vale's books and apps.

I did Jason Vale's 28-challenge after reading his book and watching his documentary. To help my process, I purchased his App and it was simply outstanding and made the whole process super easy! After reading all the reviews and success with Reboot, I was excited to download their App only to realize they do NOT have one for Android, only iPhone. How is this possible these days??? The website and community is pretty good but it's not as efficient as having an App to refer to multiple times a day.

Regardless, I will admit that there are more recipes I enjoy in Reboot than in Jason's books but Jason wins with the ease of his program and THAT is key to sticking it out in my humble opinion. And the the App certainly helps a lot. I just find the layout of the plans and the recipes and the constant flipping back and forth between pages and pages in Reboot with Joe to be too time consuming and even confusing. Having said that, it's juicing and/or juicing and fresh fruits/veg therefore it's not rocket science. As long as you understand the basics, any combination should work just fine.

There is no doubt that this book has it's devotees and I'd probably be yet another one if it weren't for the fact they don't have an App for the Android phone.

Book is very good lots of great tips. Just I find too much about his life. Recipes are ok but I find you can do your own which taste better. It is a good book to start but you will need to read else where. The Juice Bible ( yellow book) has better recipes and explains to you what each veggie n fruit are good for and tells you how to make frozen popsicle and all. If you go on the net and type Reboot with Joe you will find discussion and forums which is good to be motivated.

I'm not one of Joe's big juicing fans, I have to admit. I don't like either of his Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead movies, BUT, I am pretty impressef with the energetic gushings from an otherwise quiet and already healthy co-worker, who lost 12 pounds in her 8 day "re-boot". So who am I to criticize Joe? Obviously his juicing technique worked for her, a real live woman that I know, not a photoshopped fake from the diet pill ads!

Here's what I like about his book, and it's valuable in my mind for this alone as the bulk of his book is full of "fuff"... Testimonials from fat unhealthy folks, his personal story of how he came to juicing, blah, blah blah. But his various length reboots are easily laid out. Prettu much exactly what to drink and/or eat at what point in the day, corresponding recipes, with quantities of juices to consume already considered and best of all, a precise SHOPPING LIST to follow for each programme! Tomorrow I will head out and buy 33 apples, 10 lemons etc.. to cover my 5 to 7 day reboot upcoming. So thanks, Joe, for freeing up some of my braincells and doing the planning and shop prep for me!
