This skipping rope is one of the best I've ever owned. Not only is it durable, but the weighted handles give a more challenging and enjoyable workout. Best of all, it untangles in seconds! Highly recommended for those looking to add a skipping routine to their workout.

HASH(0x970be4b0) out of 5 stars Don't buy this rope March 22 2013
By ImaBigJoo - Published on
I'm being realistic here by giving it 2 stars. Why 2 and not 1? Well, because you CAN jump rope with it, and do double unders but it's hard to get good, solid, _consistent_ results. Here's why the rope fails: most importantly the bearings are complete crap. Ever remember getting a skateboard and spinning the wheels to see how long they spin on their own? That's a good test to see what condition the bearings are in. I've had this rope for maybe 4 months and it doesn't spin 1 revolution when I try it. Second, the speed rope is way to light for such crappy bearings. Maybe if the bearings worked the light weight would be fine, but since the bearings suck you don't get even revolutions. Thus your timing isn't 100% consistent. Basic single unders (aka jumping rope like a 3rd grader) can be a pain in the butt too since it also gets effected. Last, the "adjustment" part does make the rope adjustable but it compounds the crap bearing problem because it creates these floppy "ears" that make revolutions even more inconsistent. That said, I am buying a new rope (for those wondering who makes good ropes, check: rxsmartgear dot com, jumpnrope dot com, rpmrope dot com, or cyclonespeedrope dot com) from a different company.

HASH(0x970be8b8) out of 5 stars Rope is too light, needs to be heavier or thicker Jan. 14 2012

I jump rope a lot, and can do for extended periods, almost like a boxer can. The rope is so light, almost like jumping with kite string, the rope does not get any momentum to have a smooth jumping effect, it tends to flop around and thus hard to keep going. Seemed like a good idea, adjustment while easy, is designed when adjusted it seems to impact the rotation. Better than nothing, I found much cheaper ones superior. If you like a very light rope, this could be the one you want. The handle design is unique and why I bought it, it works well, if only could have ordered a thicker, heavier rope.

HASH(0x970bece4) out of 5 stars Terrible June 29 2012

I've been doing a lot of CrossFit lately and I knew I needed a speed rope. This one looked really nice and being from Reebok, who are the main sponsors and supporters of CrossFit, I thought it would be a nice rope. Not so. Literally the 2nd time I used it and got tripped up on it a couple times, the rope came right out of the little blue thing that holds the end of the rope near the handle. I will have to see if I can buy some sort of clamp to try and fix it.

The jump rope arrived in a timely manner but without any instructions - I know that sounds silly but it would be nice to be able to adjust it properly - I think I have it right and am enjoying my workout but am a bit dissapointed.

I had to return this item, due to the fact that the advertisement stated it would be appropriate for short persons.... Well I couldn't get the slider to lock into place, so the length of the jump rope couldn't be fixed. It wasn't fun, and frustrated, it is one of the first products, I just HAD to return.
