This author is freaking magical at writing! 😍😍 Rhythm of the road starts off a few moths after Swagger and Sass and it’s like no time has passed! It eases in so naturally and brings back all the feels! I adored Rooster after reading it and he does NOT disappoint in this book! Ugh he’s just so bad ass but sweet at the same time. Not to say they both don’t have any flaws but they are perfection together! Shelby is just a doll but a doll that will kick your ass if you need it! Lol She is just so adorably fierce and sweet! Their journey takes them through some ups and downs and a few surprising turns but just makes your heart so happy for them! As for the rest of the gang, we get to catch up with the, as well which is always an amazing treat! I LOVE seeing them all again and getting tidbits of their lives as time passes! They are like a family to me so I enjoy every bit of it! My only problem with this book is..... that we have to wait for the next one! 😂😂 seriously I am already dying for more! Autumn you have done it again and I am so happy you continue to bless us with these phenomenal characters time and time again!

That may be a confusing title because this is Rooster’s story, but clearly he is what keeps the laughter going. Rooster is besotted with Shelby as she is with him. Shelby has a crazy stalker writing her letters which Rooster eventually learns about and goes a little anal about protecting her. I hate cliffhangers.

Not a bad plot and story. Nice to read about familiar and much loved characters from the previous books. And, did I mention I hate cliffhangers???

Ok... so the first thing I need to say is... if this is your first Autumn Jones Lake book... buy it... but go back and buy the rest of them because you’re missing out!

The second thing I have to say is... have you been living under a rock???

I have found the couple that has replaced Rock and Hope (and Z and Lilly) in my head as best couple ever!

Rooster is just a giant burnt marshmallow (crunchy in the outside, squishy on the inside) and so fiercely protective of his Shelby that, honestly, I’m a little jealous!

Shelby is the girl I want to be best friends with!

Together they make just the sweetest and fiercest couple! God bless anyone who stands in there way.

If you don’t like cliffhangers wait until Lyrics on the Wind releases and read them back to back... because I’m going to be in a state of anxiety until it arrives!

Amazing, aggravating and captivating are the 3 words that come to mind when I think about this book. Well really any book autumn releases im amazed that she can pull us in and leave us wanting more everytime and its worse everytime you read her books. You feel like your with the characters as you turn the pages.

This book surprised me. I'd read the novella which introduced these characters and for whatever reason, I just didn't click with them. I think it was more me than the quality of the book or author's writing. I'm a massive fan of this series and the vast majority of the books so far have been based around the members of the Upstate charter of the Lost Kings where this character is the VP of the downstate charter. I think my love (also known as obsession lol) with the Upstate characters meant I couldn't quite bond with the new downstate characters...HOWEVER...This full length book about Rooster and Shelby pulled me in and actually I really enjoyed it. I feel like I got to know the characters better. Whilst my heart will always lie with Upstate, I feel like I'm making room in my heart for downstate.

Yes, I know how strange I sound but these characters become like friends and as a reader you feel like part of their world.

I loved Rooster and Shelby from Swagger and Sass and with this book I am well and truly hooked. Rooster is ruthless when needed( he is LOKI after all) it with Shelby he is considerate and caring always. Shelby has vulnerabilities but can sass with the best of them; love them. The book has humour, tension and lots of aw! moments, not to mention the cliffhanger. All I need to do now is start my rereads to keep me going until January. Precooked the next 2 AJL books so there’s a clue to how great Autumn’s books are.

Autumn writing style pulls you in and grips you in such a way that you feel like your right there with the characters and feeling what they feel.
