5 stars for the remastering work, the album never sound so good since the original LP release of 1972.
2 stars for the quality of this LP. I didn't receive my first copy so Amazon sent another one to me (very good consumer service from Amazon as usual). The copy I receive is wrapped and the hole is not well centered, so it affect the sound just a little bit. It was pressed in Germany and they usually manufacture amazing LP's but not this time. They probably had to rush the pressing process to be able to press the more copy they can do to send all over the world. The inspection quality wasn't good for that product.
2 stars for the record sleeve reproduction. The colors are not the same as the original, also the image is blurry (too much yellow in the colors).
Overall, I read somewhere else that some people had the same quality problems than mine. So it reflect a manufacturing problem VS a great mastering work. With more control in the final product quality, I'm sure this release will be much better.
The sad thing is since the death of David Bowie, the price on the older releases of all his albums increase insanely. If you can find a copy who was pressed in the 70's or early 80's at a good price, just go with it and pass your turn on this new release. If not, you will have to buy this new release.
For me, I will pass my turn on the other new releases of the Bowie albums who are missing from my old records collection. Will not take a chance one of these new release from Parlophone.
