About the Author

I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd. Married for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children. Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader. However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer. Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end. My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right! By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter. (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo. I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about) I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet. At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book. Every single time, she caved when I begged for two. Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books. Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete. It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to. Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer. It’s my life. If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom! But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive. Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series. I’m nearly finished with the third. Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well. This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way. I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them. I look forward to connecting with you all!

Sweet baby Jesus I’m in love!! I m a huge Kristi Webster fan and the first book of this series just solidified why! This book had my heartbreaking and tears forming in the first two chapters. The story she told here is so beautiful. It’s the story of two people who were always meant to be but an unfair decision to split them up was made for them. I love Kristi’s style of writing and being able to see and hear the story from both sides is amazing. My heart broke and was healed by both June and Bobby. Their story is defiantly one that will stick with me for a long time to come and I can’t wait to keep up with their life in the next books, as well as get into the lives of all the other tattooed, badass rockers of The Aces.
June and Booby met when June and her mom moved onto a trailer that Bobby’s parents were renting out on their property. They were instant best friends and owned each others hearts from the beginning. But when Bobby is forced to move at the age of 12, are torn apart and it takes 15 years before they find each other again, brought together by the illness of Bobby’s dad.
The fifteen years that Bobby is gone, finds June marrying a man who belittles her and abuses her. But June always kept a relationship with Mr.Acer(Bobby’s dad). The relationship that they have is one based on the heart wrenching empty whole that Bobby being gone has brought. He was the one that walked her down the aisle to another man that he knew was the wrong one. But through it all every time they saw each other from the time June was 10 till the time Bobby comes back they had the same exchanged that broke my heart every time I read it……

“When’s Bobby comin’home” I asked, my lip trembled like it always did.

DNF. The characters had absolutely NO chemistry. None. And when it came to the part where the heroine found out the hero, her childhood best friend who moved away but whose father still lived in the same Texas town, was in a famous rock band and she didn't know? No, I'm sorry. This was a completely unbelievable premise and again, NO chemistry.

I was skeptical at first about this book but I gave it a whirl and happily found for the most part adult characters that had their angst ridden moments but generally speaking were all functional adults in their respective worlds. And welcome to a small town.

I liked that the whole rock star thing existed but wasn't harped on too and that it was more about the interpersonal relationships.

There's sex but there's also some good character development especially with some of the ancillary characters (mostly the band) and what I find for me is that all those fun other characters really make the story for me. At the end of the end of the sex and the romance is basically the same in all these books but the environment you plop these people in is what makes it for me and this was a pretty simple environment that was pleasant to be in.
3.0 out of 5 stars Had hoped for more. It was short and brief. March 11 2016

June and Bobby were childhood friends until Bobby's mom uprooted them from Texas to Vegas. Bobby has been gone for fifteen years having not spoken or seen his father who still lived in the same house and town. Bobby thought his father abandoned him until he got sick and his mom confessed the truth. Bobby returned home after fifteen years to rekindle his relationship with his father.

June was characterized as a beautiful young lady who could rock a sundress and cowboy boots. Yet she married a man who was abusive to her. She stated she married him because he was the best option in her small town. Regardless of her beauty and rockin body June did not marry for love. She asked on a daily basis asked Mr. Aces when Bobby was returning home. She worked at the diner. Never went to college. She lived a stagnant and empty life.
Bobby was in a band called The Aces. Bobby was living the rockstar lifestyle. Bobby was a womanizer. Bobby was a very sexual character. Bobby was also a loose cannon with his temperament and emotional issues.
Bobby's character was written as living high on the hog one moment then crumbling from the turmoil over his father being sick, his mother's betrayal, and finding out June was married to an abusive man. Bobby was a bit dramatic with his abusive words claiming he was undeserving of a person like June. Let me clarify June was a waitress living with an abusive husband. The only thing she had going for her was her rockin body and her sexual appetite.
I did not get overly invested in the characters. It was short and brief. I had hoped for more since I love when childhood friends become lovers. The transition from twelve year old Bobby to twenty-seven year old Bobby was not very enthralling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy Hay Fields! Sept. 8 2014
By Jennifer Hines (Hines and Bigham's Literary Tryst) - Published on Amazon.com

I met K Webster at the Denton Author Event in August and immediately added her Vegas Aces books to my Kindle…and I was not disappointed!

Rock Country has some intense situations like almost rape, drug use which leads to very inappropriate actions, redneck parking lot fights, and dying loved ones, but it also has hot sex, an undeniable love, and humor. Trust me, you definitely won’t find a boring moment. Maybe a moment or three that you want to beat a certain rock star, but you’ll definitely keep turning the pages.

June fell in love when she was just a girl in pigtails, and even after he moved away she never stopped caring about him. But time moves on and she found herself married to a man she didn’t love, one who turned out to be quite the a**. He was both emotionally and physically abusive, but June left him after the first time he hit her. Way to go June!

“June, you’re one tough b*tch. Bobby has screwed himself royally when it comes to you.”

Bobby never forgot his June Bug throughout the years and when life brought him back to town, to his father’s house, he never imagined she’d still be there too. Only now she’s all grown up and all he can think about is touching the goddess who has plagued his thoughts over the years.

“First order of business – quit smoking. Second order of business – start running again. Third order of business – catch my June Bug.”

Bobby and June’s relationship starts on such a rocky road. He’s grieving and handles his emotions in a way that will only hurt June. Even if he doesn’t always fully remember his actions, he’s still the one who did them. And June already left one f**ked up man; she won’t be with another one no matter how much she loves him.

“Thing is, she’s all grown up now, Momma. I love that girl, but I may have ruined it. Last night I said some pretty awful things to her that I didn’t mean.”

I really enjoyed this book. There’s so much I’d love to say, but I don’t want to add spoilers. All I can say is that if you love sexy rock stars like I do then you should definitely add The Vegas Aces Series to your reading list.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: I love Donnie! Absolutely love him! His part in the end of the book with June was f**king hilarious!

“Lady, f**k that! He’ll f**king kill me,” he groans uncomfortably.

My Favorite ‘Hell Yeah’ Moment: Parking lot fight – Rock Stars vs Country Boys!

“Oh hell no. Chaz? Can we f**k ‘em up now?”

“Let’s f**king show these country boys that you don’t mess with bad**s motherf**king rock stars!”

4.0 out of 5 stars Friends to lovers southern style that will make your heart swell with love! Feb. 28 2015

"I'm gonna catch you June, and when I do, I'm gonna shove this bug in your pants and watch you scream!"
What a great laugh out loud and open my heart start to a story! Bobby and June Bug. They have been friends since forever. They have teased and played with each other and created a lasting bond. But, just as they are starting to mature and see each other as something different, there is an interruption to their story.

 15 years later…

"I'd thought about her every day. Hell, half my songs were in some way about her."
Bobby is a rock star, but still thinks about June all of the time.  He still itches to find her. But what will he find? He has dreamt of her, longed for her, written songs about her, and played the field trying to to find a substitute for her.

"Who sighs in defeat on their wedding day?"
June is doing what everyone thinks is best for her life. She's not so sure. After making a commitment that will be hard for her to get out of, we know the reason for the sigh. This is definitely not the life she had planned for herself.

Success accompanies Bobby. Sadness plagues June.  For both of them their lives haven't been what they've seemed, and we are with them as they start to deal with this new reality. Their initial reintroduction opens up the past and flashes a possibility of the future. Thrust together again in unlikely circumstances we can see that like sweet tea is essential to southern living, some things don't change.

"Bobby was the missing part of me and for once in my life I was starting to feel whole again."
Numerous transformations begin to materialize, and we are never left doubting that Bobby and June love each other with all of their being. He is her safe place and she is his unmovable rock during one the hardest times in his life. Seeing them become cocooned in one another throughout the story only makes our hearts swell as love and life collide to make Rock Country.

K. Webster wrote a beautiful friends to lovers story of true love finding its way home. I'm from the south and was immediately hooked by the southern undertone that played throughout Rock Country.  Because of this, I wasn't far into the book when I became attached to June and Bobby. As children, I could hear them laughing and having fun together. As adults, I became engrossed in their rekindled flame that, once lit, grew hotter and hotter. Bobby Acer played me a country love song!  Sweet, sexy, and southern charm. I was on Team June all the way! Sharing in their moments of reconnection was heart warming. Reading every instance of love and passion was the final push in my heart falling for them. Rock Country also introduced us to several other characters and their side stories that added their own unique charm and feel to give a completeness. I may be coming into this series late, but am excited that I get to dive into the next book without pause.
