Product Description

Love struck me at the early age of five. The boy turned into a man, and I fell even deeper. Guy Webb had no idea my fragile heart belonged to him for so many years. He was too busy being my brother’s best friend and a star on the football field. He was my daydream, and consumed every single thought, but he was always one step from my reach.

Beartooth Ranch was our home. The rich ranch land raised us, fostered our laughs, losses, and even gained a new family member when Guy moved in for his sophomore year of high school.

I hid my love for years. But now he’s back. Guy Webb returned a broken soldier after serving his country all over the atlas. And now it’s my job to help him heal.

My family lost everything with his return and I can only hope I survive it.

ARC - I enjoyed reading Molly and Guy's journey. Molly found her true love at young age. Growing up with a pain in the butt brother and his best friend. She watches them both leave for war and is devastated. There are traumatic events that happen to her, which makes her stronger but at the same time she is alone. Her Lover needs time to heal from PTSD.
We get to know her family members. This book is the beginning of a wonderful story. When you are done with this book you need to continue with book #2 Gravity then book #3 the traveller book2 and 3 should be on your TBR

Epic love story. I loved how H.J. Bellus delivered this story as a grandmother remember falling in love to her granddaughter. Molly and Guy were an unlikely couple since Guy was taken in by Molly’s parents when he lost his. Add to this, Guy is Amos’s best friend, Molly’s older brother. Molly knew right away that Guy was the man for her. This journey takes us from the very beginning as kids then moves us through all the trials and tribulations that life throws at us. I don’t want to give away any of the amazing moments but have tissue ready. I found this all-consuming as I anxiously devoured to find out how this love story evolved with all my emotions invested.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story, but has so much sadness that made me cry! July 27 2017

Good story, but has so much sadness that made me cry! I used a bunch of Kleenex while reading this. I probably wouldn't have read this if I had known I would cry so much while reading it. Molly & Guy are super likable & very complicated, there are moments where you want to hate them both -for stupid things they say or do, but overall I couldn’t hate them. Their relationship is very believable; you can see the love starting at the beginning when they were really young. The book flowed well, kept my interest, and almost felt like it could be a true story written by the granddaughter gathering info for her school project. But the time-line seemed off to me, starting at 2052 with Molly dying, then going back to present day-2016 (a song that released in 2016 that Guy had played at the bar), the time frame didn’t add up, if she was approximately 20, in 2016 (it said she wasn’t old enough to drink yet but was sneaking shots), & her daughter is in her 50’s when Molly is dying, that just doesn’t add up. I’m assuming since it’s not mentioned, the year Guy & Molly marry or the year they have the son & then 18 months later the daughter, but either Molly couldn’t have died in 2052 or their daughter couldn’t have been in her 50’s. There were some little things other readers have mentioned, like not wearing dress uniforms etc. There were also a few unanswered questions that left me puzzled, the big one, who the heck was Miller, there were no explanations if he was a friend of Amos Jr or what, he’s just there, I was like, who the heck is this- when he’s first mentioned, later you can piece together that he’s Amos Jr’s friend. Or what about the army buddy, Stent, who stayed after the wedding, why did he stay, was it the relationship with Mae? Some back story would have helped instead of leaving the reader wondering what the heck. Otherwise it was a good book.

Absolutely loved this book! Right from the beginning the characters grab you by the heart and you feel like you are a part of the family story being told. A must read. Love, joy, heartache and a strong rancher family whose love of horses and their ranch get them through the ups and downs of life.

I've read most of HJ's novels, and while I loved The Big O for its humor and wit, I found this to be her best novel yet. I enjoyed Molly and Guy's fairy tale a great deal.
