Product Description

Levi Black is an s.o.b.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he’s a pretentious, obnoxious, womanizing jacka** who thinks the world revolves around him.

He wouldn’t be wrong.

A famous soccer player, his skills on and off the field have won him medals, trophies, women, and the cover of every heartthrob magazine in the country. He’s broken nearly every bone in his body and a few hearts along the way, including mine—his stepsister—and lived to tell about it.

One night changed everything, and I’ve avoided him like the plague ever since. Just long enough to finish college, to bury the hurt, and to outrun the memories. But now that’s all changed. I’m back, and there’s no more running.

My hands are supposed to be my livelihood, but now they’re my curse. Levi’s reckless ways have landed him in a sticky situation, and his father has given me an offer I can’t refuse. One month and all I have to do is put my hands on his body. Easier said than done. The problem is, even though I know it’s bound to bite me in the a**, I can’t bring myself to say no to the s.o.b.

S.O.B. by J.C. Valentine

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I accepted to do a review for this book the moment i saw who was the writer, i loved her book That First Kiss, so i knew i will love this book also. After reading this book i fell completely in love with it, so i will give a well deserve 5 stars.

Vista is trying to build her resume after graduating college and makes the mistake of accepting her stepfather help. Her fist client is her stepbrother Levi that needs to regain his strength for his next game that is in one month. She will be Levi's therapist for his leg to get well and strong again, however things could not get more wrong then they are already. When things seem to get better , then David comes in and ruins everything like always (so hate him). The love between the two was born before the parents got together, and they trying to buried their feelings but seeing each other after so long they realize that nothing had changed. They will have to fight the whole world even after their parents are divorced.

Reading this book i found myself cheering for two characters and planing the death of one in so many ways. This book is amazing and trust me i do not read this type of books , this one is my second book and i love it, read it in one day , very easy read.

J.C. does it again! I was skeptical going in. I'm not a huge fan of sports related books and I'm not into this whole beard phenomenon (*gasp!). But I tend to love everything J.C. writes so obviously I read the book the first chance I got (with an ARC, just to clarify)! OMG, I loved it! I have decided that I have a weird fetish with this whole step-brother genre. It must be the taboo aspect to it all. The characters were well written. Levi's Dad was very well depicted as a complete ASS, but Levi and Vista were also well written. They were relate-able, interesting, complex, and had a deep chemistry that was well expressed through J.C.'s writing. Another great read from J.C. Valentine that I highly recommend!

WOW! I must say this was my first stepbrother book so I didn't know what to expect. I'm glad that she made it where they didn't know each other till very, very late in their teen life. That made it so much easier to read for me.

About the book, I thought this book was great. I loved the flow of it and the whole story in general. There were even a few surprises I didn't see coming. I would highly recommend this book.

I was given an arc for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of step-brother romances and this one definitely hits all the rights points for a good story in this genre. Sweet, sexy and full of real feels (I might have shed a tear or two), the story has a life of it's own that takes you to unexpected places. Levi and Vista are both lovable and infuriating. These two took me on a crazy journey ending in a whole lot of sweet satisfaction.

HASH(0x986cb804) out of 5 stars Loved it until the 50% point! Nov. 9 2015
By Brittany Price - Published on
Format: Paperback
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.*

This book started off so well and I couldn’t put it down, but at the 50% mark, things went downhill fast. I had a hard time picking up the book, instead of putting it down from that point on. I normally love stepbrother books. I can’t get enough of the resistance shown, along with the forbidden romance aspect. I liked the connection between the Levi and Vista, other than just the step siblings. Levi tried to twist everything into something dirty, which I found to be extremely entertaining. There were a few HOT scenes, which I can never get enough of. There was a big twist midway that I just found to absolutely kill the romance. It’s not that there wasn’t more drama, the book just wasn’t really focused on the romance anymore. Overall, I really, really expected and wanted to enjoy this book, but it ended up being more disappointing than anticipated. Even though I wasn't a fan of this story, I still would be interested in reading more of the author's work!

Considering Levi and Vista weren't using protection during the sex scenes (idiots), I wasn't surprised the pregnancy happened. I didn't like how Levi was disappointed that Vista was too far along to terminate the pregnancy, either. Try being responsible. The book went through the whole darn pregnancy. I didn’t want to read about some of that stuff. Gas and bloating? Not interested. Having a discussion with the baby during an intimate scene? Ewww. Could that have ruined the scene anymore? No. I’m not interested in reading steamy during a pregnancy, in general. If a baby is involved, wait until at least the 90% mark. Sorry if that was harsh! I just was disappointed.

HASH(0x986cb858) out of 5 stars Amazing story.. Nov. 9 2015

I received this for an honest review. This makes the 4th book I have read of J.C. Valentine. She is truly an amazing author. As you read her books you can see how much of her heart and soul she puts into her work. I love her author’s notes that she leaves in her books. The fact that she might have a layout and the way she thinks she will go with a character to finds out that she takes a totally different route. She truly has a magic touch and you will see that when you read her books. I think she gets better and better with each book she writes.

This is a stepbrother book. I have a huge love for the taboo books. When you start to read the story of Vista Marquis and Levi Black you will see a few surprises along the way. You will watch as life throws them road blocks and how they handle the situations they are faced with.

Vista and Levi were not raised as brother and sister. They were late teenagers when their parents got married. They were hot and heavy at a young age and now here they were being forced to be brother and sister. Levi had broke Vista’s heart. She has never got over him and now after college trying to get to establish a career for herself. Her awful stepfather is forcing her to go live with her stepbrother for a month and help him out with physical therapy.

Levi has a lot of different sides to him. He is actually deeper then one thinks. He was a professional soccer player and his father controls his life and his career. Levi knows his father David Black is one not to be crossed and he truly fears his father. Levi had got seriously hurt and needed physical therapy and was not sure how he felt that his father was bring his sister in to help him out.

You will laugh and your heart will break at times. J.C. has done such an amazing job writing this book that you will get pulled right into the story. You will find there are characters you love and some you will hate. But trust me when I say you will fall in love with the whole book. It is a story well worth reading and one that you can not put down.

HASH(0x986cbc90) out of 5 stars An S.O.B To Fall In Love With Nov. 25 2015
By Liz Castillo - Published on

This book is about two people that are seriously attracted to each other, their chemistry is intoxicating. They share one amazing night together that changes things for them, this could be the start of something magical. But there is a huge roadblock and that would be the fact that his father is married to her mother and his father will not let some "fling" ruin the family's name. So Levi does something hurtful that pushes Vista away, breaking her heart.

Years have passed and Vista is looking for her big break. She wants to start her business and is offered an opportunity that brings her face to face with Levi again. If she can help him in his recovery for one month, she will have the means and contacts to make her business a success. Easy, right? He couldn't still have a pull over her, could he? She's put him firmly in the past, she can do this.

Levi and Vista have been through several years apart, but their bond is undeniable. Watching these two interact is dynamic and sensual. Their path to happiness is tumultuous at best, but no one said happily ever after would easy.

I loved Vista's passion for her mother, her job, and her heart. She sticks to her values even though it could cost her everything. And they way she stands up to not only Levi, but his dad too, is brilliant.

Levi may have had everything handed to him on a silver platter, but there is heart under all that playboy bravado. That's a side that he rarely shows, but his need to show Vista is powerful. I loved that about him. He does so much but does it because it makes him feel good, not for the recognition. There is more to this man than meets the eyes.

I really liked this book more than I expected. J.C. brings us a story that is exciting, heartwarming, thought provoking, tearful and loving. A love story that will melt your heart and leave you with a smile.

HASH(0x986cbc78) out of 5 stars So in love with Levi! Nov. 11 2015

★★★★ 1/2

I'll admit, I was a little over the whole "step-brother romance" scene, but there was something about this book that just called to me, and I knew I needed to read it. S.O.B is unlike any other "step" romance out there, and I fell in love with Vista and Levi's story from the very beginning.

Vista and Levi had one hot night right before their parents got married when they were eighteen, then things went wrong and they haven't seen one another for four years. When they see each other again and are forced to be near one another, things definitely get interesting.

There was so many misunderstandings and things that could have been done differently between these two, that you knew that things were going to be interesting as they tried to figure things out. I adored how strong Vista's character was and how she truly stood up for herself, no matter her feelings for Levi, she did what she thought was best for herself. She didn't take hand outs from others, and she worked hard to get where she was. Levi may be her only downfall, as when it comes to him, she can't seem to say no. She will fight him tooth and nail, but she always gives in, because the heart wants what the heart wants.

Levi isn't the S.O.B. that Vista makes him out to be in her head, he truly cares for her, and has spent the past four years trying to get her out of his head. When he sees her walls she put up starting to fall, he makes his move and doesn't take no for an answer. I loved how he really did care about Vista, but she was so jaded about the past, that it took forever for her to see. The things he did, and how you could tell his feelings truly were hurt by things Vista did really warmed my heart.

The two of these characters have explosive chemistry and I loved them together. They don't have an easy story, but it's hard to not root for Levi and Vista to make it. Mistakes are definitely made, and sometimes they don't handle things as best as they could, but the love they have for one another is a beautiful thing. I loved the humor, sexiness, and angst that S.O.B. brought and once I picked this book up, I wasn't able to put it down.

Don't let the "Step-Brother" theme stop you from one-clicking this book. This is SO MUCH MORE than a step sibling romance,. S.O.B. is a beautiful story about love, and growing up. I adored it and am so sad it ended, but loved the ending we got for Levi and Vista! This was the first story of J.C. Valentine's that I've read and it definitely will not be the last.

HASH(0x986cf054) out of 5 stars If you like Stepbrother romances (hell, even if you don't), you'll love this one! Oct. 29 2015

I think stepbrother romances are my new favourite thing! There's something about the fact they're considered forbidden.

The SOB, Levi, may have started out as an SOB, and had a few SOB moments throughout, but his sweet, caring, funny, and totally hot characteristics stole my heart right alongside Vista's. Vista had the perfect amount of strength and sass to keep Levi on his toes. Their romance is definitely bumpy and has a couple of surprise twists, but I love where it ended up.

I loved this it, read it, you'll be glad you did! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
