This book is jam-packed with romance and suspense!

First of all, Sharon really did her homework for writing this book. She included such in-depth details about not only SEAL training, but the Navajo culture. I love that she went the extra mile in that regard because it makes the book more believable.

I was a little unsure about both Luci and Danny at first. They were both introduced into the story in an unconventional way, but from their first encounter, I couldn't wait to read more about them!

And let's just say there was a lot to read about them, including one very large surprise that I, for sure, was not expecting!

The suspenseful undertone throughout the book kept me guessing as to what the resolution would be, and by the end, Danny and Luci both had grown so much and I loved the characters they became.

Oh, and HOLY SMOKES, Sharon sure can write a love scene! Whew!

All in all, this was a great romance that will give you a peek into a beautiful culture and will keep you riveted 'til the end!

SEAL's CODE is the tenth installment in Sharon Hamilton's SEAL BROTHERHOOD/ The Bad Boys of SEAL Team 3 adult, contemporary, military romance series. This is new SEAL recruit and Native American Danny Begay, and Aboriginal grade school teacher Luci Tohe's storyline. SEAL'S CODE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Luci and Danny) SEAL's CODE follows the building relationship between Luci and Danny, and Danny's entry into the military. Danny and Luci are members of the Navajo Native American community and with it comes all of the hardships and stereotyping of living on the reservations. Danny left the community to strike out on his own, but the death of his beloved grandfather, a Navajo Code Talker during the second World War, finds our hero longing for a place to belong.

The relationship between Luci and Danny begins as a one night stand the day before Danny enlists. Fast forward several months, where Danny returns a Navy SEAL, and discovers that problems have escalated upon the Reserve: the number of missing girls has escalated and with it comes the possibility of a sex slave ring right under their nose.

SEAL's CODE is a slow building storyline that focuses on the Navajo and Native American plight of segregation, discrimination, drugs, alcohol, poverty and abuse, but with it also comes the ghosts of the People long gone in the hopes of one day becoming a proud community as they were in the past. There are moments where the voices of those who have passed direct the characters towards the future but the overriding theme of Aboriginal problems pervaded most of the storyline such that the good guys were few are far between.

Danny Begay cleaned up his life up and became a SEAL and now he’s returned to visit the girl he cannot get out of his mind only to discover the reservation has become a dangerous place for Luci and her family in this thrilling contemporary romance. Sharon Hamilton certainly knows how to bring sexy SEALs to vibrant life, so once again, I was completely absorbed in the story from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the next one.

HASH(0xa28dcb10) out of 5 stars I wish I could return this book :( July 28 2015

I should have read the sample. I just bought this book about 20 minutes ago and got through 5 chapters. I could not finish it mainly because I found the hero (Danny) gross, I don't know maybe it was the fact that Danny is a pot head and drunk, I don't know but in my book that already cast him as a $**tbag. Especially being Dine', I would expect better.
If I could return this purchase I would.
This is my first book purchase from this author and while I like her style of writing and will purchase another book, I did not like this book, I bought this book because the H/H are native and being native I was excited to see a modern romance novel depicting two native people getting their groove on, but what I could not get past was the spiritualism and the substance abuse. I was intrigued by both characters, especially the heroine, I really liked her, but I could not get past certain character traits. What I did like about this book and applaud this author for is her contemporary portrayal of native people, she did not turn the H/H into "noble savages", there was some mysticism that I had me rolling my eyes, and the sex scenes were steamy but just did not like the Danny.

HASH(0xa2901cfc) out of 5 stars a great story about the past and the present, the old and the new June 30 2015
By Niki Driscoll - Published on Amazon.com

Danny has denied his heritage, refused to listen to the voices of his ancestors and disappointed his grandfather one of the original Navajo code talkers. When his grandfather passes away and tells him it is time for him to get on the right path he enlists in the service and becomes a Seal. Luci is scared , trying to keep her small family safe and meets Danny when they are both vulnerable. One night of passion and a connection is formed that neither of them will be able to run from. This was a great story about the past and the present, the old and the new and finding peace with who your are and where you came from. I found Danny to be a strong character and I enjoyed watching him develop into good man. Luci was in a tough situation but she still had a back bone and was a strong character in her own right. This story line had a delicate subject matter and was brought home by how easy it was for the bad guys to reach out and accomplish their goal. I found myself laughing, getting angry, feeling sad and being happy when the Calvary arrived. The storyline was engaging, kept your attention and was easy to read. I just love Ms. Hamilton's Seals.

HASH(0xa36902d0) out of 5 stars I love these SEALs June 30 2015
By Amy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I loved Danny and Luci’s story. They met one night when they both needed someone. In their night of heated passion they found a connection that neither could let go of or forget.

Danny is dealing with his grandfather’s passing and the native voices are pulling at him to take control of where he is going in life. Finding his calling, he ends up with Seal Team 3 determined to turn his life around.

Luci is a very strong heroine. In all the difficulties she has endured, she remains strong in her struggle to better her life and that of her sister. Dealing with a drug and alcohol addicted mother and her troublesome ways leads to danger no one could predict.

SEAL’s Code is full of action, drama, passion, and heated sex. I really enjoyed seeing Danny transform into a strong alpha-male who began to understand and accept his heritage. I had to re-read a few sections in the beginning to fully understand what was going on, but it didn’t take long for everything to flow and grab me. I didn’t want to put it down, especially when the *poop* hit the fan and things spiraled. This is part of a series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I love reading Sharon’s stories about the SEALs and look forward to reading many more.

I really didn't like this book very much. Not really believable and too much going on. The elements were all there. Indian culture, bad guys, seals and their training. But each element was skimmed over to get it all in.
