Firstly, the statue. It's mostly made of shiny plastic and looks cheaply made. Once you put batteries inside, you can turn it on and hear the classic SEGA startup sound, which is a nice touch. There is a volume button that does nothing and a "power on" led that doesn't work.
Secondly, the ring. Be careful with this one; the box containing the ring will open as soon as you put it vertically, emptying its content on the floor. Inside the box is a cheap plastic container for the ring, similar to what you'd expect from a disposable packaging. The ring is what it is: a metal ring painted gold. It could be nicer if not inside the cheap packaging.
Thirdly, the card. Well, this card was supposed to contain the game code, which is on a separate sheet. It doesn't have any purpose, it's just a metal card with the logo on it.
Lastly, the price. With the game being 20$ and this edition 90$, you are basically paying 70$ for a cheaply made statue, a plastic case containing a metal ring and a metal card without any purpose. It's for you to say if this is worth it, which it is not in my opinion.
The first box, which is the outside packaging, was a little cheaper but is really nice looking. The inner box which I imagine is for display arrived in perfect condition and lacks all the gaudiness while being thicker stock. Inside is the statue, which is quite big and of reasonable quality. It's medium thickness PVC, I think? Should stand up to a little abuse, but the paint probably won't. Looks nice above my gaming PC. The reproduction cartridge is a hoot, the ring inside is metal, then there's a metal card that was intended for your game code but apparently that didn't work.
As with others the code sheet fell out of the second box immediately. All in all, about the only CE I'm going to buy this decade, but it's been twenty years of waiting for this so hey it's nice to have my nostalgia tickled.
Star off for not being too great a deal - the game is $20 CAD so it's $60 (after tax and prime discount) for a statue, reproduction cart and a metal card/ring. Probably shoulda knocked a couple boxes off and also for amazon delaying the shipping which is pretty inexcusable on an item preordered last year.
