As a graduate of the "Sacred Woman" program several years ago, led by Queen Afua, I eagerly awaited this blessed book.
This book is a gem and a life saver. It will transform the way that all women look at themselves and other women. Her teachings on the womb and the ways of woman and girl-hood are revolutionary and much needed.
When I received the book, I made a commitment to repeat the Sacred Woman's training again. Some readers may have a problem with the Khamitic Nubian Philosphy and some of the language, however, if you are meditative and open, you gain new knowledge and wisdom that will be beneficial.
As the book progresses through each of the nine "gateways", you will gain a new way of thinking about your self as a whole woman. This is wholistic thinking. Here a woman gets to examine her body temple, her kitchen, her home, relationships and words, etc. Using the recommended tools she can take herself on a joyous spiritual journey. If one never travels through the gateways in deed, the information alone is worth thking in.
I heartily recommend this book to all women regardless of age, race and status. All will benefit from these teachings that will affect not only ourselves, but our families, homes and communities. In the words of poetess-healer Lady Prema, Heal A Woman, Heal A Nation!

With a deep sigh, I begin by thanking Queen Afua for this book. I like the whole workbook concept of this book although it's easy to see it's easier done with a group but not impossible to do solo. It's a huge text and you can see a good amount of time was put into this. From Gateways 0 to 9 working on ourselves is something we should be doing with joy everyday and her book makes me want to do the work. It's not gonna be easy but Sacred Woman is encouraging in a wholistic and spiritual way. I'm really feeling the ancient ways in these pages. Yes, those days are gone but we still remember. One thing in particular I like is how each gateway outlines the divinity, the aspects of the divine in ourselves, the historical ancestors who empowered themselves through that particular quality, and the elders and contemporary/modern day women we can relate to when working our way through. Another is she has a section of words -sacred words - and their meanings that were used back in the day up to now. Three words: Buy this book! Tua NTR. (Definition? Check out the book)

This book should be mandatory reading for all woman of the Africa Diaspora! My deepest gratitude goes out to Mother Queen Afua for sharing her story and her lifestyle with those of us who truly need it. I was living very unhealthily and could not understand why I was consistently having health problems, especially reproductive and sinus problems. Sacred Woman brought it all home for me and made it crytal clear! I not only found out the reasons why I was having the problems, but I found good solutions to help eradicate them. Queen Afua has gone in-depth with historical information, complete food guides, and even a schedule that will get you back to appreciating the real, natural woman you are and help you on the road to healthier, happier living. I highly recommed this book to all my sisters living in fear of who they really are, or are living with pain and struggle unhealthy living can bring. Come home, my sisters -- let Queen Afua and Sacred Woman show you the way.

This book lives up to it's name but it is best for Women who are open minded & prepared to do some hard work. If I hadn't bought
this book I wouldn't have figuerd out what was wrong with me me(health wise) Once I follwed her advice I have felt much better.
This book is great because it is detailed and on many subjects.
You would have to buy ateleast 5 books to get some of the information you get in this one book. She talks about healing your mind, body, spirit, home, relationships & etc. It is so deep ya'll. You don't have to follow her religion to use this book. Switch the prayers around a bit to include Jesus, Allah
or whom ever you believe in. In my opinion this book will motivate you in your spirituality, no mater what you do or do not practice. Every Women can find something in here to relate to. What you waiting for? You better buy this before it gose out of print.
