1.0 out of 5 stars Warranty not honoured by Samsung
By ZG on April 22, 2019
I bought this SSD and after 4 months it has bad sectors. I can not use Samsung Magician to fix it so I resorted to Warranty with Samsung. When I entered all my info (double verified), I'm told my product is past warranty coverage. Yet, at time of sale, the listing said 5-year warranty. Something fishy here. I'm hoping the seller will come to my rescue.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning! Defective Items are being shipped with July 2018 releases
Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2018
I ordered a hard disk and tested through the Crystal Disk benchmark. It was only giving 50% less speeds than specifications. I have a 5 yr old Samsung SSD with same operating system which was reading above 500MB/S for the sequential test. I have run the same test with another Samsung SSD 850 EVO, which also gave above 500MB/s. I made sure that all the parameters are same for different SSDs.
I got a replacement disk from amazon and it turned to be defective as well. I tried one from Best Buy released in the same month and discovered the same. Samsung's Quality testing has gone downhill and they should be ashamed of themselves for selling so many defective units.
Before a person from Samsung replies to my comment, they should also note that I have already contacted Samsung and they said the issue can't be fixed and to return the drive.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the top SSD in consumer class

I have Samsung SSD working in my 7 year old laptop (Dell 7720 SE), I had paid 13k for 250GB variant at that time. Currently I am using Kingston and Samsung SSDs in my other laptops and desktops.
I can recommend this Samsung SSD based on my experience for sure, regarding warranty Samsung has said that there is some issue at the website, because as soon as you register your SSD on their website it show 'out of warranty'. So as per Samsung warranty can be availed using the invoice, your SSD is covered with warranty as mentioned on Samsung website against the SSD model. If you don't have invoice then warranty will be given from the date of manufacturing.
If don't have high budget then you can go with affordable option like Kingston, as I am using them as well from long time. You won't feel any difference in day to day use, only difference you can see between high capacity SSDs (like 1TB or 2TB) and smaller size SSDs (like 120GB or 240GB), when you will be copying large files (i.e.,100GB). Higher capacity SSDs tend to have larger RAM (chache), due to which they can hold high speed copying (500MB/Sec or higher) for longer than smaller SSDs, because smaller SSD will have small amount of RAM (chache). With Samsung you can expect longer SSD life than other brand. Hope this would help someone to decide his/her SSD purchase decision.
