Product Description

When Lady Rebecca Eversley is left ravished by the Earl of Newthorpe and facing ruination, she has the choice to point her pretty little nose in the air and face the gossips of the Ton or scurry off to the country to live out her life as an old maid. When she meets Lord Daniel Ramsey, a notorious rake, she decides on the former course of action.
Daniel has been given an ultimatum, marry before his father dies or lose the majority of his inheritance money. Rebecca seems the perfect candidate, especially once rumours about her start to circulate in the drawing rooms of Mayfair.
When Newthorpe is found dead on the morning of their wedding, the people they care about find themselves suspects in the case. Who murdered Newthorpe and can Rebecca ever get over what he did to her?

AMAZING!! 5+ stars!

This is the first book I have read by Em Taylor. I have had Em's work on my TBR list for a long time and I am so excited that she allowed me to review her work.

I was addicted to Saved by a Rake and could not put it down! I fell in love with Lady Rebecca and my heart hurt for all that she was going through. She is a very strong, determined young lady and she did not care that the Ton would be gossiping about her. She was not in the wrong after all. When her brother, James, couldn't control his emotions, he confided in his best friend about all that went on and what truly happened to Rebecca. When Daniel enters her life, she finds herself at a complete loss at her inner turmoil.

Em Taylor is a very gifted writer. She has the ability to pull you right in her story and you feel all of her character's emotions. I felt as if I was personally dealing with the backlash of what happened to Rebecca and wanted to yell at the Earl who hurt her.

Daniel and Rebecca's story is amazing and you will not be able to put it down! Thank you Em for a wonderful story and I look forward to read more of your amazing work.

If your love historical romances, Saved by a Rake, written by EM Taylor, is the perfect book set in the Regency era. I really liked her two main characters Rebecca and Daniel. It was well written, sweet, charming and romantic! How can you go wrong with all of this! It has everything to please an historical lover! This is the first time that I read a story written by this author and I am looking forward to her next one. Ms. Taylor nicely blended believable and complex characters into her sweet historical romance.

HASH(0xa103f630) out of 5 stars Sweet, sensual and satisfying Jan. 18 2014

Ms Taylor has a wonderful Regency voice. She thoroughly draws you into the story and the world. I particularly liked that she drew us into parts of the Regency world outside of the Ton, like a boxing saloon and a seedy inn. It was refreshing to not have a whole book set in various balls, as so often happens in these books. She also dealt with a difficult subject beautifully. You have instant empathy for Rebecca and wonder quite how she will move forwards from her ravishment.

Daniel proves the be the perfect rake. While his reputation would have him bedding many women--something that causes Rebecca to doubt him at times--he is determined to put that aside and be a good husband, even if he may find it frustrating at times. I actually enjoyed his moments of frustration. They made him very real to me. No one would deal with such an event easily and perfectly and while they both desperately wanted to work towards a happy ending, their journey was still fraught with tension and misunderstandings.

Ms Taylor also writes some pretty steamy scenes. It strikes me that historical books always get painted as sweet because of their historical tone but the moments between Rebecca and Daniel are enough to get you hot under the collar while still feeling true to the historical tone of this book. A highly recommended read, particularly for the Regency reader who feels they've read it all.

This book was lovely, inspiring and encouraging.
I read a 1 star review where the reader was appauled but the erotic scenes and I must say that review was unjustified. there was nothing disgusting about the sex scenes. They were exploring and truly intimate to show the difference between rape and making love which i believed was necessary for the characters especially for the heroine. I'm glad the author did that.

HASH(0xa103f960) out of 5 stars What a wonderful story. Loved it! Nov. 22 2013

What a wonderful story!!! I absolutely loved it. First, let me say that Ms. Taylor handled a delicate situation beautifully. From the synopsis, we know that Rebecca has been hurt in one of the worst ways possible. Daniel, a handsome rake, steps in as her protector. The love, patience and understanding he handles her with is admirable. I want my own Daniel. LOL But seriously, I cried at some parts, knowing the pain Rebecca dealt with and the frustration Daniel went through. I laughed at the egos and male posturing later on in the story. And, not to mention Rebecca's innocence and curiousity that had Daniel lost for words at times.

I have to say that I truly loved this story. I highly recommend this book!

I love historical romance novels and this one didn't disappoint. I haven't read any in a while so I was really looking forward to reading Saved by a Rake. Em Taylor did a really good job writing this story. I really loved what she did with the characters. I loved reading about the sexual tension between Rebecca and the Rake Daniel. You do not want to miss this story. It is a must read for everyone. :)

HASH(0xa103fe94) out of 5 stars Just so-so Sept. 6 2014

This is really sort of a limp book. The writing was clean, but uninspired and very passive. The hero was just okay and the heroine was pretty much a ninny. Her favorite way of displaying her insecurity was to tell her husband to take a mistress as soon as possible. Even the end was lackluster. Much of the story was "told" instead of "shown" which didn't contribute to character development. The dialogue was unrealistic and had moments of anachronism.

However, the sex scenes contributed toward the plot instead of being just dropped into the story.
Mechanically the book was clean, nothing to complain about there.
