HASH(0xa639fc24) out of 5 stars Monsters flying the fiendish skies! Dec 19 2014
By Justin G. - Published on
Format: Audio CD
Even when they won the big Eurovision contest back in 2006, did anybody really see Finnish monster mashers Lordi sticking it out for the better part of a decade, let alone maintaining such a high level of popularity? Well, I’m happy to be proven wrong on this count. Lordi is still monster-garbed, still rocking hard, and now they’ve unleashed album number seven, titled Scare Force One, on the world.

If you’ve heard any of the previous Lordi albums, Scare Force One holds absolutely no surprises. It’s a loud, raucous hard rock album full of catchy melodies, gravelly vocals and shout-along choruses, and pretty much every song is about being a monster, rocking out, or rocking out while being a monster. Ah, but it’s fun stuff, in an Alice Cooper meets GWAR kind of way. What’s not to love about songs like “The United Rocking Dead,” “Monster Is My Name” and “Cadaver Lover?” Sure it’s cheesy, but were you expecting anything else from guys dressed up like monsters?

This one’s pretty straightforward. If you’re a Lordi fan, you’re going to love Scare Force One. If you’re a Lordi hater, nothing here is going to change your mind. And if you’re new to the band, Scare Force One makes a good introduction to this unusual band.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this CD by the label for review.

HASH(0xa639fc78) out of 5 stars SCG7 rocks! Dec 1 2014
By Abdiel Ruiz-Rojas - Published on

This new album really delivers. After the rather experimental "To Beast or Not to Beast" (Which was excellent to my taste) Lordi returns to something more of their previous style.
The album is heavier than previous ones on keyboards, probably so people can appreciate Hella, their new keyboard player, more and her style.
In general offers a new fresher sound while keeping the quintessence of the band. The music changes during the song was an interesting move, and does deliver. The only track that kinda disappointed me is "United Rocking Dead", but other than that it's a great album.

HASH(0xa63a40cc) out of 5 stars Get Heavy and Deadache they have certainly staked a claim for one of the best bands out there Nov. 28 2014

This is everything Rock and Roll has been missing...hard driving rock that is a cross between Bullet for My Valentine and Motley Crüe....all with a wicked sense of humor....why isn't Lordi the biggest band in the world? I don't know, but after the Arockalypse, Get Heavy and Deadache they have certainly staked a claim for one of the best bands out yourself a favor and listen to the title track.....

They just keep on getting better, regardless of changes in their band. If you enjoyed their previous albums, you'll love this one too.
Since downloading it yesterday, I've listened to the whole thing six times. ^_^

While its not perfect, Scare Force One is still a damn good cd and way better than To Beast or Not to Beast. With songs like Cadaver Lover and Hell Sends In The Clowns (my favorite tracks) makes this release a must buy. If u don't have this yet, Get it now!!! 10/10 Thanx for reading.
