I bought a few cans to waterproof some outdoor clothing and a few canvas shelter I have for this upcoming winter, I treated said items in my living room with the widows open. There's not much of a smell it was pretty minimal. Waited 24 hrs and retreated. 24 hrs later i tested my canvas tarp. The water just beaded up and ran off with no issues. We don't get heavy mounts of rain where i live but we do get lots of snow
Used four cans on an 8' x 8' cloth gazebo, for which it did NOT work due to the loose weave and sag of the fabric: anywhere the fabric sagged the water pooled and then ran through. Check the thickness of your fabric first! When used on a properly stretched nylon tent fly it worked perfectly, easily repelling the water.
this winter i experienced wet coating on my suede boots after walking in the snow. i realized it needs to get scotchgarded. after application of two coats, the boots are no longer soaking in wetness. my feet are warm again.
