Supposedly there is a 2 year warranty but Amazon makes it pretty difficult to find out the exchange process on electronics older than 30 days. Beware. If you do buy it, get a second one for your back up.
I did find with internal drives it is better to get the Hybrid type. Seagate has excellent Hybrid drives. When using the drive as an external USB drive I found very little difference or any difference between the regular drive and the Hybrid drive. I am using this drive for backing up files, saving restore points, and making a system image.
Over the years I found these drives to be highly reliable, and they work well. I found the 2.5 inch form factor drive to be a bit faster than the equivalent larger form factor drive. I guess this is because the platter and head mass is lower, and thus allows for faster mechanical movement. In a desktop type environment to have the more robust operation over time, I would install the larger form factor type drive of this series or the Hybrid version.
If you are running on Windows 7, it is best to stay at 2TB or lower in size for the drive. Above 2TB Win7 cannot do an image backup. Third party software will be required.
I would strongly recommend this drive type. Excellent drive quality for the price. I am using a fair amount of these in laptops and for external backups.
Also makes clickety noises so I suspect internal damage. I could try to return it but I think it's a lot of hassle so I might keep it for educational/tweaking purposes.
EDIT: disassembled the drive and found a faint head scratch near the center. I think I drove the final nail in the coffin when I ran the HDD and hear the clickety noises.
Swapping out the old HDD for the new one took less than 5 mins and reinstalling the OS was a breeze (just follow the guide on the playstation website). Transferring over installed games was also made easy as you can easily backup your playstation onto a (properly FAT32 formatted) external hard drive and reinstall them once you put in the new HDD.

Had this as my internal HDD for my PS4 ran for a little over a year after crashing and permanently failing. Valuable save data is lost if you don’t regularly backup or don’t have a playstion plus account. Had I known that Seagate was notorious for bad sectors I would have never purchased this due to it fragility. Here I am going back and fourth for over a month(due their 1 email per week) for some kind of solution from Seagate. I discuss with Seagate about with data recovery (which is advertised on their website) they say it’s copyrighted material on the hdd so they cannot recover it. I discuss the repair of the hard drive, which i would have paid for, (which is also mentioned on their website) I got two answers; do a third party repair and we don’t do repairs. Finally, knowing I am out of warranty i ask if there is anyway of getting replacement at all; no talk to amazon. Seagate support also mentioned to me that amazon.ca is not a authorized seller of Seagate as well. I am back to using the original Hgst hdd the PS4 came with some of my save files. I think I’ll try HGST hdd next time seems to be more durable.
Don’t throw your money away on this product.

Ok, that PS4 narrow disk cage around the drive needs to go just leave the bit that the drive screws on to.
PS4 now has a 5TB drive.
Fair price for a 1TB drive
I bit the bullet and bougt it but sent it back when i realised the height of this thing it soo big to fit.
I cant say it was great because I never got to use it. I suspect it would have worked fine though.
