Elaine's courage and strength to share her journey through the video-game addiction of her son Jake is to be commended. Her book has quickly reached the public through social media, radio and television. Her determination to make others aware that they are not alone will surely be a valuable support for parents with addicted children.

Elaine's candid willingness to share her parenting experience with her son who became a video-game addict is inspiring. She takes us on her winding path to Jake's healing that has no maps - or GPS. It includes grief, joy, confusion, anger, relief, fear, hope, despair and, most of all, love. This is an important support for parents who are challenged to find a way forward with their technology- addicted children.

Written in the style of a memoir, Seeing Through the Cracks, illustrates the essence of motherhood. Elaine shows the reader the reality of her transitioning roles of mothering her children to supporting them with loving devotion into the years of their young adulthood. Her story chronicles the challenges and the victories in her family life with an emphasis on the trials of video gaming and the affects it has, in particular, on her youngest son. The chapters contain riveting encounters, heartbreaking moments, and times of jubilant celebration. My thoughts are succinct with the author's own words; "There are no words powerful enough to describe my gratitude." Thank you Elaine Uskoski for sharing your story.
