I got this watch because of the new 4r36 movement. I have several 7s36's and still enjoy them very much, but wanted to try out the hacking and winding movement. The first thing I noticed was that the dial wasn't "flat green" or OD green like in the picture, it has a very nice sun ray dial that is flawless under magnification. The case is polished and the bezel rotates smoothly in both directions. The inner polished bezel is a nice touch and the E6B flight computer is surprisingly easy to read. The lum is what I expect from Seiko, very bright and long lasting. The bracelet is solid and hasn't made much noise yet which is a big deal to me. No solid end links but it is still a nice bracelet at this price point. I have only had it for a little while so I have not finished the accuracy test. Overall it's a nice addition to the collection, and is very unique compared to the rest of the Seikos I have.
5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL watch for the price March 14 2016

BEAUTIFUL watch for the price.

Watches like this can go either way so it's tough to order them online. Once it's in your hand, you might have something that just seems over the top and silly-shiny, or you might have something that really carries itself well. This watch is definitely the latter.

Yes it's shiny and it has "teeth" on the bezel and the bracelet is a mix of brushed and glass elements. But when you actually see it in person, it's perfect. It doesn't come off as busy or ostentatious, but instead as aggressive and strong in a very understated, subtle way. Rather than being eclectic, it all hangs together well.

The case is solid and heavy, the bracelet is excellent quality, it has a nice display back, and while the crown doesn't screw down, there is a nice crown guard to prevent it from taking too much abuse. The lume is bright and the lume pattern is unique and aesthetically pleasing. Movement is an evolution of the Seiko 7s26 workhorse, now hacking and hand winding. Mine is quiet and accurate to less that +/-10 seconds variation per day. And with 100m water resistance, it's an "all occasion" watch—if you're caught in the rain or suddenly invited into the pool, you're fine.

I am beyond pleased with this watch; it instantly shoots to the top of my collection for everyday wear. Love it.
