What’s worse than having to watch your sister marry your ex fiancé?
How about when that fiancé fires you from the family business?

Hyper-organized, event planner, Jaya Trudeaux is used to doing things by the book and never making waves. It’s a strategy that’s served her well until she finds herself in failure alley with no fiancé, no job and her thirtieth birthday looming. Maybe it’s time to change her methods. Starting with an unlikely date to the wedding from hell.

The only thing that can tie carefree, playboy, Alec Danthers down is his formidable step-mother. When she calls him home to help find his wayward brother, he never imagines an uptight, list making, sass-talking woman would make him think about putting down roots.

Can Jaya put the lists down long enough to enjoy the ride that is Alec?

SEXY IN STILETTOS is a FREE, BWWM Interracial Contemporary Romance with steamy sexual content and strong language.

Interview with the Author
Q - So, what makes the In Stilettos series special?

A - First and foremost, it's a story about these single women and their strong friendship. I wanted to create characters that were relatable and that I would want to hang out with. Strong women and the alpha males who compliment them. Those are the kinds of contemporary romances I love to read. And as always, I had to make it funny, because romantic comedy is where my heart is.

And I as always wanted to celebrate diversity in romance so I stayed in the Interracial and Multicultural Romance genre.

Q - What order should I read the books in?

A – Great question! Originally, the series was meant to be three books, but the fans called for more so I went back with a baby story and eventually rebooted the series with a New Adult Romance and Serial Romance twist! I'll be continuing the series in 2016:

- Sexy in Stilettos
- Sultry in Stilettos
- Sassy in Stilettos
- Strollers & Stilettos
- Seductive in Stilettos 1
- Seductive in Stilettos 2
- Seductive in Stilettos 3
- Seductive in Stilettos 4
- Seductive in Stilettos 5
- Sinful in Stilettos (Coming 2016) :

Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?

A - Because the books in the In Stilettos series are fast-paced, hilarious reads that will make you laugh out loud, cry a little and want a best friend as incredible as Jaya, Ricca, not to mention Alec, Beckett & Caleb. If you love BWWM Interracial Romance reads, Interracial Romantic Comedies, or Chick-Lit Romance with a ultra sexy twist, you’ll love Sexy in Stilettos! And even better, it’s a free romance read!!

Ultimately, readers who enjoy fast-paced, romantic comedy reads, with sexy billionaires, a military romance, or a good old fashioned friends to lovers trope, will get a kick out of this series.

Q - Can readers get the whole series in one go?

A –I've put together a bundle for those who like to keep the party going after book 1. It includes the first three books in the series. As I write, I’ll be bundling more! Check out my author page here at Amazon for more details, and a full list of my available titles.

And thanks for reading! :

It's a reasonably good story. It's a light romance, with parts that are easily predictable.

There were a few typos, esp. with some quotation marks at times, but even with choosing the correct homonym (ex. were vs where).

I'm not sure if I'll read the next books. This book was generally good, but I was annoyed with some parts of it. For example, after going on about how Alec must NOT know about her Thirty list, she ends up telling him about it one page later. Also, when Jaya is chasing after a client and says she really needs 10 minutes with him to talk, only one paragraph later she says she needs 5 minutes (and it's not like she couldn't find him and would settle for 5 minutes instead of 10).

It was still a good story, but I read it spread out over a week without feeling anxious to finish it. I might reread it in a few months and see if I want to read the next one in the series.

However, this book is a full story in itself. The other books are stories about different characters, so there's no need to worry about not having the full story.

HASH(0xa3c8d7e0) out of 5 stars Extremely weak storyline, constant graphic sex throughout June 27 2012
By Caylee - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Sadly, the description of this book is deceiving since graphic sex is not mentioned. I have a hard time believing that the rave reviews are for the same book I read. Sexy in Stilettos is flat out porn. Take out the repetitive, numerous and graphically depicted sexual acts and the entire book would be about 20 pages since the storyline is just an afterthought. The typos one wouldn't find with a spell check show me a lazy author. For instance "...he covered her lisps with his." Huh? How exactly are lisps used to cover lisps? Oh yeah, it must be lips not lisps. Yeah, lips. And another where the author mentions "call in the Calvary" Uh, Calvary is a place and not easily moved or called. Try cavalry. Better yet, get an editor.

HASH(0xa3c8d834) out of 5 stars Quick and Fun and Funny June 8 2012

3.5 stars

Whipped right through this book. A Very quick, fun read. It is told primarily from the POV (not first person) of the heroine, Jaya. I loved Jaya's voice. She was funny with a quick, sarcastic wit that I could totally relate to. At one point she is describing the scene she walks in on with her ex-fiancee and her sister:

"All I know is I came home to find Tamara faking it like a porn star in my bed. No surprise really. He was terrible in bed."

Her inner voice, with all her pithy observations about the people around her, is just as funny.

Her relationship with Alec is sexily explosive. It is one of those where they have a hard time keeping their hands off of each other even thought they really don't want to have a relationship. And they are sexually adventurous. I think I would have been somewhat annoyed with the pre-occupation with the sex if the author hadn't also established that Alec and Jaya were also attempting to connect outside of the bedroom.

She is uptight, a little OCD, and plans her life by lists. Alec is a rolling stone. If he is anywhere for too long he starts to feel suffocated. He is determined to make her act a little more impulsively. She is just as determined to push him on what she sees as his waste of potential.

I could have easily rated the book a whole star higher, really. The back-story for both Jaya and Alec, especially their relationships with their respective parents & siblings was really quite good -- the stuff that some great emotional heft could have been attached to. Unfortunately, I think both these areas got the short shrift. Jaya's troubled relationship with her father is dangled tantalizingly in bits here and there. I liked the earlier glimpses of her father that made him enigmatic and a little opaque. However I thought his reaction to Alec's little speech about Jaya's worth was a little too simplistic. I would have loved for the author to delve a little more deeply into the roots of that relationship.

Same deal with Jaya's sister. There are intriguing glimpses that Tamara is more than just the fiance stealer/orgasm faker that Jaya views her as. But Tamara just disappears. I wonder if she'll appear in later books?

I loved Alec's stepmother, the inimitable Adele, and would have enjoyed spending more time with her. I thought the subplot with Alec's brother felt somewhat incongruous with the rest of the story.

All in all though this was a good read. I thought the writing was bright and spry. I easily fell into the story and, more importantly, I stayed there (I've been DNF'ing books like crazy lately). There were a few minor typos, but nothing that really intruded.

This is the first book I've read by this author, will certainly look up more.

HASH(0xa3c8db10) out of 5 stars Great story July 12 2012

Great story. While someone else posted that this was a porn book, that is so not true; however, it's not a chaste book either though. Great story of Person A having a horrible day when she runs into/meets Person B and is horrified at how she's acting. She never expects to see him again, and, out of habit hands out her business card. She is shocked when they see each other a few days later. There are about four sex scenes in this book, one may be a little over the top than what others are use to, but still nothing is porn written.

HASH(0xa3c8da08) out of 5 stars In Love with this Book May 8 2012

Alec and Jaya together are just WOW!!!

I loved this story from start to finish. Jaya is the responsible, list-making, very controlled adult. Alec likes to move from one place to the next without making any commitment. Even though they are completely different, they couldn't be more compatible.

Pros: Alec and Jaya together are just HOT (I mean the sex was STEAMY).Also this book had a solid plot, with well-defined characters, and a strong supporting cast.

Cons: There are none

Overall this book is as sexy and sassy as the author says it will be.

"Sexy in Stilettos" has enough drama, mystery, and romance to leave you fully satisfied with your purchase!!

HASH(0xa3c8dbf4) out of 5 stars I Don't Find Sex Gods When I Get On Elevators. July 18 2012

I'm upset with this author. I like this book and thought it could have been awesome...if the author had just had it EDITED! Ugh so frustrating to be into a good book, a book that makes you happy to be reading it and find yourself stumbling over the sentences because of wrong words, missing word, extra words, etc. Nothing ruins and intimate scene more than to have to stop reading and try to figure out what the author is saying. Now your flow is messed up and so is the mood. Like if you're in the room with a sexy guy he is dressed nicely, smelling good, he removes his pants and has on some holey tighty-whities !

I thought the sex scenes where darn good (minus the errors). I didn't feel like I was reading the same sexual scene each time, which is good considering how much sex is in this book. But don't get me wrong the author is quite repetitive another thing that irked me. I think if she had this book over looked by an editor hopefully they would have removed some of this for her.

The description pretty much sums up what happens in the book. It's an interracial romance. Alec (white) that runs into a crying Jaya (black) in an elevator and having no other choice, he soothes her.

This book still gets 3 stars even with all the other stuff mentioned. To me, it reads kind of like Fifty Shades of Gray sexually but a bit better because of the creativity and freshness. Her writing style is sort J.R. Wardish to me. EDIT authors, you really are doing your work a disservice by not at the very least have it proofread. A lot of these mistakes could have easily been caught by beta readers that you asked to review for errors.

I gave this 3 Stars here that rates okay but I liked it a bit more than okay. But I'm taking a star for the errors.
