Some secrets should just stay buried. On the day Tristan Morrow is born her mother goes missing, prompting an investigation that produces no solid leads. Fast forward 15 years, and the Morrow family still doesn’t know the truth behind Catherine Morrow’s disappearance. When 15 year old Tristan is required to write a biography on her mother for a school assignment, she learns the truth about her mother’s fate, and is hell-bent upon finding out who was responsible for her death. But when Tristan herself goes missing too, everyone is suspect, even her own father. Set in rural Fox Hollow, PA, Shadow Dancer unravels a web of lies, deceit, madness and corruption. Can investigators crack the case before Tristan meets the same fate as her mother? And who is responsible for the disappearances? There is much uncertainty as the investigation unfolds, but there is one thing that is certain: Tristan Morrow holds the master key to the entire riddle.

I LOVED Addison Kline's Shadow Dancer. Part police story, part murder mystery, part kidnap drama, this is the story of a family secret and the damage it did to two generations of the Morrow family.
When Tristan's excessively strict English teacher assigns her an essay about her "missing" Mother she realizes that she knows almost nothing about the woman who has been gone since the day she was born. Nobody will tell her much about her mother, but it soon becomes clear that what she doesn't know can hurt her.
When Tristan disappears from her home during the night after discovering that her missing mother has actually been dead all along the whole story about her mother Catherine finally begins to come out, but can her father and the new police sergeant solve the case before Tristan meets her mother's fate?
Well written with an interesting cast of fully developed characters, Shadow Dancer is an exciting story that provides a new twist on every page, right through to the poignantly powerful ending.
Absolutely a 5 star read.

I. Reviewed a copy of this book for a honest review.

I thought the book was very complex. And the story that went along with it. Kept you on your toes. Filled with secrets and all you want to do is discover them. I will admit it took me a little bit to get into this book but once I did it was a good read. Thank you for the chance to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable story. Oct. 8 2014

A very enjoyable read. I was a bit confused at first with some of the characters, places, and happenings but once I settled "into" this story, I realized this was going to be an impressive read and it was.

The story takes us to meet the Morrow Family through it's losses, strengths, the hidden lies, or truths. depending on who is talking, or filling in the back story. The mystery and suspense keeps you reading and turning pages as quickly as you can.

Before you start reading, make sure you have time because it captures your mind, sucks you in, and before you know it, you have been reading for hours.

I would recommend this book and gladly give it 5 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Book full of twist and turns! Amazing Book! Sept. 12 2014

This review maybe a bit biased due to the fact that I love the author so much and highly enjoy her work. This is unlike anything she has written before and I still love it!
This is more suspense/mystery and Young Adult and no romance what so ever. This book starts out with each of the kids getting an assignment from their creepy English teacher. They have to each write about a certain member of their family, Tristan gets her mom, who died shortly after she was born. Her dad flips out over this trying to get him to change his mind, doesn't happen. There is a bit mystery to how she died and a lot of rumors flying around. While searching thru boxes, Tristian finds out more about her and eventually finds her secret room. I won't tell you a whole lot of why the teacher is creepy but he a bit obsessed with a certain character in the book. This has been a hard review to do cause I don't want to give anything away but it's such an amazing book.
5.0 out of 5 stars A definite winner!! Wonderful characters, fantastic story! Sept. 15 2014

Love this book! Can't wait to read more about these characters! I generally read books more in the romance genre, but after reading Black Horse and Broken Road by this author, was intrigued to read this even though it is in the mystery/suspense genre. So glad I did! The characters are beautifully developed, and the story has enough turns and twists to keep you engaged until the very end. It did take me a little while to get into the book and be fully engaged, but by around 35% I was hooked and had to keep going. Despite the slow start for me, I still give this book 5 stars and just advise anyone who reads it to stick with it, because it is totally worth the time!
5.0 out of 5 stars Tristan's mother disappeared 15 years ago right after she was ... May 18 2016

Tristan's mother disappeared 15 years ago right after she was born. According to her father, she just left.

Her high school English teacher, assigns biography papers and specific individuals for each student. Tristan is assigned to find out about her mother.

Tristan discovers she has been lied to and also many more secrets that have been kept from her and her brothers.

Suddenly Tristan goes missing. Her father and boyfriend are prime suspects. Years of secrets unravel as the search for Tristan ensues.

Will investigators be able to locate Tristan before it is too late? How can an upstanding citizen turn out to be so untrustworthy? Corruption within the police department impairs the investigation and time is running out.

Tristan holds the master key to both cases and it is imperative she is found and quickly ~
5.0 out of 5 stars Must read!! Sept. 12 2014

Some secrets are better left unknown or are they? This is the story of fifteen year old Tristan Morrow. She is the baby of her family and the only daughter to her parents. Tristan has been told her whole life that her mother is gone. Where is she? Did she abandon her family or is she dead? One night Tristan finds out the truth and that her mother is dead. At this point all hell breaks loose. Will Tristan succumb to the same fate as her mother? What happened to her mother and who was responsible?

I will start off by saying this type of book is not what I normally read as of late. I typically read romance, erotica, etc. This book was a surprise for me and I absolutely loved it. I was grabbed from the beginning of this story wanting and needing to know more. This story was filled with mystery, angst, and the unknown. I was pulled in by the characters and story line and kept hooked until the very end. I was not sure how I would feel reading a book where the main character was a teenage girl, but Tristan is a great character who is strong and you can’t help fall in love with her and root for her throughout the story. I love a strong female character and Addison did not disappoint with her creation of Tristan.
I have read a few of Addison’s books and I think this one has been my favorite thus far. It brought me back to the mystery books that caused me to fall in love with reading when I was younger. If you’re looking for a fantastic mystery that grips you early on, the look no further. This is one you will want to read for sure!!
