Siglent SDS1072CML Bench Oscilloscope (Bandwidth 70MHz) With dual-channel measurements, large color screen and unobtrusive design, the SDS1072CML is a great way to evaluate the status of waveforms and is suitable for use in multiple applications including training centers, calibration laboratories, product quality control and many more. The device’s dual channel capability means it is easily possible to track two measurements at the same time and actively compare the results gained thanks to clear display of each waveform on the device’s 7-inch color display. Different waveforms are also presented in different colors, making identification quick and easy. This device features a number of different settings and features including up to 70MHz bandwidth, 2-channels (with one extension), real time sampling rate of 1GSa/s, equivalent sampling rate of 50GSa/s, memory depth of 2Mpts and multiple trigger types. The SDS1072CML is also suitable for use in many different countries and comes provided with a multiple-language interface. Available languages are English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Italian and Arabic.

Price was better than anywhere else with similar specs. This is my 1st oscilloscope, so I don't too much about them. But that said, ease of use for a newbie was great. I had a project on the go when it showed up, so that was great timing. A feature I liked on it was being able to do a screen capture to a USB stick.

I'm a hobbyist. I've been doing hobby electronics since I was 5 and I've had my eye on a scope new scope for a while. I've had a couple of analog ones over the years, but this is my first digital scope. In the process of designing a few small SMPS circuits to power various projects, I decided to upgrade.
It's a hard choice these days between this and the newer 4-channel Rigol scopes (at nearly the same price as this) and the various competitors. It essentially came down to which I didn't have to pay shipping on, but this is a fine choice.
Pros: - Responsive - Quiet, although if you block the vents, you might hear the fan kick in. It does become more audible after it's been running for a while. - Great sensitivity - Excellent bandwidth - Familiar layout - Dependable
Cons: - The interface could be better; it's designed for engineers, so maybe it's not a big issue - I want a way to prevent the screen from turning off automatically while I'm monitoring a circuit; I'll keep digging for an answer to this one, but it's very annoying when I'm testing something to have to constantly reach over (or move) and push some button to turn the screen back on. - I'd prefer it didn't ask me for a language choice every time I turn it on
This is a perfectly usable engineering tool for a student, engineer or a hobbyist. I'd certainly recommend it. This scope has been a huge help in tuning my designs for better efficiency and helping troubleshoot problems. They're really an essential tool for anyone designing and repairing electronics.
This is my first oscilloscope, so I am not an expert nor can I compare it to other scopes. But I have learned a lot in the short time I have had owned it. I really like using it, and everything seems to work as it should. This was shipped right away, so I am very pleased with my purchase. There was only a quick start guide, so for some one like me I would like to have a more in depth information on practical use. But this kind of info can be found on the net.
This is my first scope, got it on sale, nice toy to play with. I'm still a newbie so can't really comment on specifics but it does everything I'd expect from a digital scope.
I'm very pleased with the oscilloscope so far. The deep memory depth of the CML version is definitely worth the small extra cost. A good price from "barsroom" and fulfilled via amazon next day. I suspect that this may be a "gray" import, as it had a probably chinese mains lead and a cheap adapter had been included to convert to UK mains - I immediately discarded these for a safer UK moulded plug mains lead. The supplied probes are an inexpensive design. One of the probes supplied with my scope has an intermittent connection problem that gives erroneous signals, but I felt it was easier to buy a better replacement probe rather than try and sort a direct replacement from the seller.
Reviews of the Siglent scopes can be found on-line. This model is also sold re-badged by LeCroy as the Waveace 1000 series, but you will pay more than double the price for having a famous name on the front! Definitely save yourself some money and get this one.
