Though I’m in class with an excellent teacher (24 Yang Style Tai Chi Forms - 1 x week for 11 weeks), this DVD fills gaps that can’t be covered in class. What helped me:
• Sink shoulders & drop elbows, correct my stance, be mindful of posture (esp. knee & toe directions), distance between feet when apart, correct way to transition between poses incl. how to transfer weight
• Shows common mistakes in posture and hand/leg positions – helps to become aware
• Forms are divided into Sections for demo. and its translation into martial arts is also shown
• A relaxed body and correct spine/ pelvis posture achieve max. energy flow
Initially, I found Tai Chi hard to ‘get’ despite being in class due to hand-feet/ left-right co-ordination. DVDs have made it so much easier to learn, correct mistakes (in time!) and fun. I’ve gained way more confidence in just 4 weeks of daily practice!
FYI - I watched several videos online as well as borrowed DVDs from my local library before investing in 3 DVDs – this one & her Tai Chi for Women [Import ] and Tai Chi - 24 Forms DVD By Dr. Paul Lam****UPDATED!!!**** . All have been worth it for my needs & practice.

Something to be aware of is that the form shown requires more space to perform than you might think. If you are looking for something that can be performed in a smaller space, then "Simply Tai Chi" (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simply-Tai-Chi-Book-Gift/dp/1741577799/) might be a better place to start. Whether that would deliver the same benefits is more open to question. Otherwise, finding a DVD on the Wu style of tai chi, which is performed with a smaller "frame", might enable practice to happen where space is more limited.
The self-defence applications of the movements seem a little fanciful, if I'm being completely honest. If that's your focus, you are probably better served elsewhere anyway. My main reason for buying this was to improve general health, and it continues to serve that purpose well. It's for this reason that the DVD gets five stars.
