Product Description

Touring as an opening act for a huge rock band and landing a record contract means you’ve hit the big time, right?

Sadly, neither of those things gave Rusty Crawford, lead guitarist of the band Black Addiction, worldwide fame and fortune. Which was a shame because he had the lifestyle down to a fine art—without the clichéd stint in rehab.

Even being back in the Bronx, paying his dues didn’t rattle the charismatic axe man, ladies loved him and men wanted to be him. Fate would just have to catch up. Seemed like fate had more than just a platinum album planned for his future.

Alison Williams had the perfect life. Or at least she did until her world came crashing down around her, in the most epic way.

With her future no longer a certainty she finds herself out of her comfort zone and into unchartered territory—a place where Rusty Crawford likes to spend most of his time.

Will the charming and ridiculously hot rock god help her find her feet, or send her further down the rabbit hole?

One thing was for sure; both of them were in for the ride of their lives.

Review of Slide (Black Addiction #1) by T. Gephart

Review done for Hooked on Books & CherryOBlossom Promotions

4 out of 5 stars

Alison Williams was ready to marry her boyfriend; too bad he had other plans with someone else.

Down and out, Alison is stressed to the limit. She has no job, and will be losing her apartment shortly as well. On a night out drinking, Alison decides she is going to be brave and have sex with the gorgeous rock star, Rusty, that she has been admiring from afar.

Rust is used to girls falling all over him. He is a rock star after all. When the beautiful girl he tried to buy a drink for a few weeks before comes over and kisses him at the bar, he thinks it is his lucky day. He is all over this.

When they get back to his place, Rusty realizes that there is something different about Alison. He is just interested in sleeping with her, he would like to get to know her as well. This has never happened with another woman before.

As they get to know each other, things begin to happen quickly between them. From Rusty offering a room for Alison to stay in, to them getting hot and heavy.

Love doesn’t have a time table. You also can’t control who you fall in love with.

I really enjoyed this book. I also loved the Power Station series by T. Gephart and this one is starting off just as great.

I definitely recommend this book and cannot wait for book 2.

I have to confess that I got hooked up to T Gephart's books only recently after meeting her few times at signings. But once I started reading, I simply got addicted and for the last couple of months, I've read everything she ever published. So, of course, once I found out she is going to write a new series about Black Addiction, I was simply ecstatic. And I can honestly say that this was an amazing read. It was a little bit more light-hearted than her other books but the characters still have their heartaches and problems. The only thing missing is the suspense which she has in most of her books. That doesn't mean that the book is lacking though. On the contrary. It was actually quite cool to read a simple love story with quite a few notes of humor and with incredible romantic leads.

Rusty and Alison are quite interesting characters and they meet like two normal people in a bar. Things don't exactly click from the first meeting but with time passing their chemistry just grows more explosive. And I loved the scene with their second official meeting :) It reminded me of that really cool scene from Crazy Stupid Love with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. You probably know which one I am talking about, but just so there are no misunderstandings. It's the one where Emma enters the bar, walks to Ryan and pretty much gives him the hottest kiss ever. And the whole evening after that (with the photoshop line and all that). So yes, few scenes in the book actually remind me quite a lot of the movie. But I still loved because even though it sounds familiar, it is still different.

So be prepared. Rusty is one hot dude and he can melt your panties with a single look.

HASH(0xa5ba1b70) out of 5 stars Without a doubt an absolute brilliant read!! June 14 2016

** Review provided by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **

Meet Rusty Crawford.
Hot, charming, charismatic, sinfully delicious.
Lead guitarist of Black Addiction.
Music is his life.
He lives and breathes it.
It's his passion.
But relationships.....Nup not at all.
There is never a shortage on women who want to ....Let's say be friends with benefits with Rusty.
Just the way he likes it.

But a simple chance encounter at a bar will change everything.
She will change everything.

Meet Alison Williams.
She has everything she needs.
An amazing job as a paralegal.
A great boyfriend of two years.
Life couldn't be better for Alison.
She has everything she wants.
Her life is safe, balanced, controlled.
But in the blink of an eye Alison will lose everything.
her life will be turned completely upside down.
But what Alison doesn't know is her knight in shining armour is just around the corner.
No correct that.....Her fascination will be her knight in shining armour.
He will change everything.

Welcome to the world of Rusty Crawford and Alison Williams guys.

This novel....This....Is what I would call absolute brilliance. This novel had me gripped right from the very beginning.
Yes rock star meets girl, has been done so many times before, but Slide is unique, rare and quite frankly nothing I have ever read before.
It was absolutely nothing I had imagined it to be. It wasn't clique, or predictable.....No Slide was extremely unpredictable, lighthearted, raw, confronting, but more importantly real. It focused around real life issues and real life struggles that most of us go through in everyday life. It took us on a journey of self belief and understanding. It took us on a journey of self discovery. But more importantly it took us on a journey of how we at times need to put our trust in ourselves that we deserve better, that we deserve more.

And the execution.....Guys seriously it blew me away. I have never laughed so much with the banter between the characters and the situations they found themselves in.
I can't tell you how many times I held my breath and had to re-read the words thinking....No freaking way that just did not happen.
And yes I also felt the tears spilling with the sheer heartache and trauma that the characters went through.

Guys Slide has absolutely everything and so much more. A beautifully written novel with so much depth and meaning it just left me wanting more and more.
I seriously can't rate it high enough. If I could give it more that five stars I definitely would. It's a read NOT TO BE MISSED!!

HASH(0xa5ba1ba0) out of 5 stars Disappointing! Dec 5 2015

Although Rusty and Alison's story was interesting as well as entertaining, it was overrun with way too many raunchy, repetitious sex scenes.

Rusty, the perceived guitar playing player of Black Addiction meets Alison in a bar and there is something different about her that drags him in. Unfortunately, she is still with her loser soon to be ex and turns him down. Weeks later Alison, who's entire life is falling apart finds him again with the intention of seducing him. But what they both get out of that is the beginning of something more. Of course there were a few road bumps, the past coming back to cause problems, and insecurities causing unnecessary reactions.
I liked Rusty, he was an all around good guy. Alison was a bit flighty but she was never a bad person.
The HFN was adorable.

HASH(0xa5ba1fc0) out of 5 stars Zero stars........ Dec 12 2015

If I could have given fewer stars, I would have. There isn't a single original thought in this book. In fact, the bar scene when the heroine meets the "hot guy" is a blatant rip off of the Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone meet in Crazy Stupid Love. Please don't waste your money or time on this drivel. I have read free books that put this collection of other people's thoughts to shame.

A fantastic read! It had everything - love, romance, humor, and steam (Oh, and Rusty - my new book boyfriend) I spent the entire time reading this either giggling like a schoolgirl or fanning myself with my Kindle - the best combination ever! I've read every book by T Gephart - and this one does not disappoint. I highly recommend!!
