For the cost of around £20.00 this is the best value clip on tuner there is.
counter. Its replacement did exactly the same!! This SNARK HZ model may work well for guitars but I suggest you
DO NOT BUY this model if you want frequency info for violin, octave-violin, mandolin and Irish mandola unless you
are prepared to use a calculator!!!
For all these instruments the results were the SAME, irrespective of octave. In ascending order of strings, G read 96.8,
D 73.1, A 54.7, E, 41.3 Hz, factors of half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth adrift of their actual values, and half those factors
for the octave instruments!. This accounted for the lower frequency readings for the higher the string!!
The 'tuner' function was good, clear and fast however.
I think this device requires a firmware or ASIC modification because the 'SUPER TIGHT HZ' certainly doesn't
do what is says on its box!!!!!!!. Let's hope SNARK's HZ MKII will be better!
( I'll be keeping the tuner as it's too much hassle to change it.)
The display is bright so great if playing in bars or pubs. Red is flat, green is good and yellow is sharp.
The controls are simple - you can set the frequency level- 440 is the default.
Seems to pick vibration from instruments well so not distracted by other sounds in the environment.
Also did a great job on my 2 acoustics in the same enviroment.
Thanks to the HZ feature, you can dial this in to unbelievable accuracy,or alternative tuneings, without issue. Also tunes with a capo!.
The best tuner I own by far.
Has a nice quality feel to it too, especially the clip, and it puts my Ibanez chromatic tuner to shame.
It may be slightly pricey, but trust me,it is worth the extra outlay,as you wont be disappointed!.!
This Snark digital tuner is fantastic though.
Simply clip the small, light weight gadget on top end of guitar and twizzle it round (ball joint) to view the readout.
It took me a little while to get the hang of tuning gently to get within the lines. I also realised that new strings need tuning more often. Once I got the hang of it, then I found it so easy to use.
I’m using it on a steel string acoustic guitar.
I’d highly recommend this to anyone who can play a guitar but doesn’t have the natural ear to tune by pitch.
Save your pennies.
This is my first journey into vibration-based tuning, and I love it!
I am using this on my Taylor and my Strat, and it works quickly, it is really easy, no messing with leads and the display is perfect. I must admit I am not using the Hz display much, but I have dipped into it occasionally, mostly for fun. Next up is to try it on my other instruments.
One of my better purchases.
I love the fact that the item is quite simply a case of turn it on and tune your guitar. No fiddly buttons etc like others. It is a very sensitive device so it picks it up the strings a lot better than the other tuners I have used, the other positive being that the screen is very bright so it is very easy to see in different enviroments.
This guitar tuner is nothing particularly special, it is simple and does its job. For a tenner, I certainly can't complain.
