Product Description

The Double Threat series follows Meg’s crazy world as she navigates high school. She finds love, loses love, finds it again all the while dealing with backstabbing friends, shitty dates, and the inevitable boy problems. She also has an amazing cast of friends who are funky, fun, witty, loyal, and downright goofy. Imagine the Pink Ladies in modern times. This is the Double Threat Crew!

* * *

In this fun-filled, fast-moving young adult romantic comedy, sassy fourteen-year-old Megan Miller, and her close-knit friends, begin their four year high school journey. Expectations and hopes are high for their Freshman year. Meggie wants nothing more than to experience all high school has to offer – growing freedom, hot boys, parties, make-out sessions, and did I mention hot boys?

Enter Alex Aguilar. At seventeen, he is Carver High’s sports superstar and dreamy superstud. Yet, despite the hype, Alex is undeniably sweet, and Meggie is beyond smitten. But, of course, he is a SENIOR. So, ought to be completely off limits for a ninth grader, right? Age doesn’t always dictate whom you will love, though. So I’m A Double Threat is the start of their journey.

Will young love survive the challenges presented them or is friendship all they can only really hope for? Backs will be stabbed, hearts will be broken, tears will be shed. But, despite this, Meggie’s strong-willed determination, loyalty, and zest for fun will ensure the ride is a memorable one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Teen series with teen issues Feb. 23 2014
By Secretly Adorkable Readers - Published on

I found this series on Amazon and received the first and 2nd free.

This book kind of reminded the 4 best friends from the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I thought it was a cute story. It is a teen Romance with the regular teen issues which this boom had some drug issues, sex, & some language.

Meggie met Alex and fell in love with him at a party before her Freshman year of HS but he is a Senior and doesn't look at her that way. Best friends are faced with trials of normal teen issues but will their friendship overcome the obstacles they face?
4.0 out of 5 stars Took me straight back to high school... Jan. 12 2014

Picked this up b/c Amazon had it for free so I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, let me just say that it took me straight back to high school! The drama, the angst, the backstabbing friends, teenage sex, dances, parties.... everything in this book, is everything that I dealt with when I was in high school. Meg has a HUGE crush on Alex, and he ends up with her best friend Amy... she has a friend that ends up smoking pot... then there is their underage drinking and skipping classes. I KNEW what was going on between Amy and Ben as soon as it started after Alex was crowned King. I enjoyed reading this, and I will be buying and reading the second one as well, b/c Meg and Alex do end up kinda together in the end, and from reading the blurb on the second one, they do become a couple, and I have to read it just to find out what happens between them, with Alex being in college, and Meg still in high school. I'm also curious to see if Amy is ever forgiven for stabbing her best friend in the back. I know how it would have played out when I was in high school....

4.0 out of 5 stars Authro has the 9th grade teen girl voice down Sept. 29 2013

Yep, defiantly has the 9th grade teen girl voice down. The main character's life revolves around a party, a boy, and you know what is coming next without turning the page. The opening paragraph says it all.

"A real high school party," I squeal. Overcome with fear and excitement, I playfully shake the arms of both Stephanie and Keesha. I throw my hands in the air and begin to chant, "Party over here," as I dance and stroll up the street. The girls join in, "Party over there!" Maybe if I joke around, I can calm my nerves long enough to be sane. Tonight is the night. We've talked about it every day since the first day of eighth grade. This is the night we've dreamed about."

Just got finished reading another book where a party plays a key roll Purple Moon. Interesting to compare the two books.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Characters! Great Fun! Great Romance! Feb. 8 2013

Ok, so I downloaded this book because it looked like a quick, easy, junk-food for the brain kind of read. I'm far from a teenager, but I still enjoy some good YA drama. I didn't care for the title and really didn't think I would care for the book, but I wound up loving it. Or I think it might be more accurate to say that I became so involved with the many unique characters that I fell in love with them. Even though this book stands on its own and it's not necessary to read the others in the series, I really wanted to know what became of each of them. I don't spend money on books very often (I'm too much of a tight wad and there are too many books I can read for free.), but I purchased every book in this series and loved them all. The writer really makes you feel like you are part of their group of friends. I cried with them; I laughed out loud with them (many, many times); I fell in love with each and every one of them.

I do need to say that I would not consider this a teen read. There is a lot of partying and alcohol use at a very young age. The sexual content and bad language is limited, but is still prevalent.
