I am no audiophile, but I've learnt to indulge in these HD audio albums here and there for fun.
I've never owned this particular album before, despite having their singles here and there or a greatest hits somewhere.
I grew up in the 80's but I am not a fan of a lot of the music but this is an exception. This album stands shoulder to shoulder with the great pop records of the last 40 years.
If you like great music buy the CD. But if you love great sound by the Blu ray audio you will be glad you did!
The blu ray audio in 5.1 captures the creative genius of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. This is there best recording ever; but with the help of fellow Brit Steve Wilson of (Porcupine Tree) these songs have been taken to a new level. The only way to appreciate what I;m saying is to listen to it yourself in 5.1. I can't stress this enough. For me it's the only reason why i bought this disc. I highly recommend this disc and I'm very happy it's part of my library of music.

Went clubbing. It was all great days. SHOUT is especially memorable.
I have bought the cd in various forms and had no idea what bluray audio would sound like - I am happy to say the sound is crystal clear and as good as SACD...!!!
it has brought fresh life into a classic album....the 5.1 mix is stunning!!!
with the huge hits "shout" "everybody wants to rule the world" and "head over heels" as well as my personal favourite "mothers talk" and the brilliant "listen" sounds amazing!!!
a true expereince for fans or loves of surround sound!
So why only four stars? This is because the cover image on the web site shows that this blu-ray disc should come in a clear, elegant blu-ray case with "HIGH FIDELITY" and "PURE AUDIO" on each side of the blu-ray logo at the top, like all other discs like these that I have in my collection. What I got today, however, was the standard blue blu-ray case that most all blu-rays come in, which was a disappointment.
So if you have a decent surround system and like this album you will not be disappointed.Get it before they stop making it.
Not sure about side two as I went straight to a different disc at the end of side one to check that the imbalance wasn't the result of an equipment or ear problem, but that one played fine.
