We love our Sonos ! Best thing we ever bought. We have one on each of our floors of our 3 floor townhome.
2 in the tv room along with the Sonos beam in front of the TV. My husband call to Alexa and messages me through the Sonos when I'm on the top floor. I downloaded the amazon app to play more music through Sonos. It's not necessary though as Sonos has lots of music options. I love waking up in the morning and saying Alexa play music. It plays the last music you listened too. You can control the volume through the Sonos app and music selection. As, well as ask Alexa to do it for you. Also, you can pair all the speakers together or unpaid certain rooms to listen to different music than the others. My husband is watching TV now through Sonos beam and speakers and I m listening to music upstairs. You get a lifetime of free music with Sonos if you have more than 2 or maybe it's 3 Sonos beams. Best sound quality. It has made our home so cozy and is super cool to have on when entertaining. It took us along time to break down and spend the money. As, we were not sure of the quality. We also bought 2 tall stands off of Amazon for the 2 speakers in the TV room. The Sonos beam just sits in front of the TV. No shelf was needed. You can ask Alexa the weather, the options are endless if you want to spend the time learning more through the "Ultimate Alexa app."

One of the best audio quality small speaker
In the last years, I've bought the Denon Heos 7 then changed to the Riva Festival. While the Heos 7 was good, the Riva Festival was superior in terms of sound quality and connection. Then, I realized that Riva is no longer in the game or I don't know what since they don't answer any emails from many customers and all of their speakers are discontinued. I was a little hesitant to merge to the Sonos family. Oh was I wrong!! I bought the Sonos One thinking that at least Sonos is a pioneer in the field of the multiroom system. The speaker arrived, and I right away connected the power. What followed was so easy!!! The connection to the wifi network worked like a charm, the app was really intuitive and everything went without any problems. Ok, now let's talk about the sound. I really liked the Riva Festival which had good bass, good highs but a little recessed mids for my taste. The sound was still clear, open and detailed. The Riva Festival is a bigger speaker (equivalent to the Sonos five) and had more bass which is obvious but I was still surprised at the bass on the Sonos One. Any other similar same sized bluetooth speaker had little or no bass. This speaker still has this feeling of low end in a small footprint. The highs are crystal clear and what I like the most is the mids and voices that are very equilibrated, clear and spacious. For sure it's not a tower speaker but for a 250$ speaker, it's really suprising. Compared to the Festival, which is bigger, I prefer the Sonos One for it's midrange and highs. Comparing those 2 speakers is unfair since they are not in the same category though. I plan to change the Riva Festival for the Sonos Five soon. Take this with a grain of salt since sound perception is a really subjective thing (psychoacoustic and sound preferences) but being an advanced amateur audiophile, I'm always looking for the best sound I can afford. Sonos is really worth a look if you're looking for a multiroom wifi system where audio quality is a priority and ease of use is a child's play.

The Sonos is smart and obedient. You can use the Google assistant or Alexa if you prefer. I chose Google and it has proven very reliable.
The Sonos app lets you link your system to a huge array of music services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music etc. It can also connect to devices on your network so I’ve got a music server with iTunes for my old music collection.
Mostly I ask Google to play Spotify but I also ask questions such as what’s the weather tomorrow. It is especially useful when you’re cooking and it’s too awkward to look up something: “what’s 16oz in grams?” I hadn’t appreciated how useful that could be.
Buy this speaker for the sound, the looks and the ease of use.

A smart speaker that sounds and looks great. This is not my first smart speaker but my other (Bose) was smart but would sulk at times and not do what I asked. Perhaps it was a teenager?

Great sound, and never had any issues. There's a lot of great times, laughter and dancing happening because of these speakers. Thank you to the designers.
Downside, the expense is high, but we got amazing sound. It is also limited in which music providers can play on it, but there's enough content that we are super happy with it.

If you're looking for incredible sound, Alexa + Google assistant and to get into the incredible world of Sonos.... This is it. You can't beat two of these things synced, the bass, highs, lows.. it's all incredible
I would give this 6/5 stars if I could.
I'm now a Sonos man and will never go back

So I was initially weary from the negative reviews but honestly, I couldn't be happier with this device. I didn't want to commit to Alexa or Google assistant but I wanted a great sounding smart speaker. This allows me to switch between Alexa and Google when I want so I can try both AND this. Thing. Sounds. Incredible. I'm not lying that within 5 minute's I ordered a second one and now have full surround sound in my loving room / kitchen and it blows everyone away.

Definitely a sound upgrade from Echo speakers
Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2021Style: 1 SpeakerColour Name: BlackVerified Purchase
I'm a big fan of the Amazon Alexa system, and for a while now I've had several recent generation Echo speakers scattered throughout my house. However, although the Echo has decent sound quality, I wanted to upgrade and take things to the next level. I did a lot of research and ended up buying several of these Sonos One (gen 2) speakers. They're pricey but it was worth it.
The sound quality is a *noticeable* improvement from the Echo speakers. Much smoother and crisper music, better range, etc. It's just a higher end speaker.
I did have some initial frustrations authorizing my first Sonos speaker to work with Alexa. Amazon kept wanting me to authenticate my new device with a One Time Password (OTP) it was sending to my e-mail, but that I wasn't finding those e-mails in my inbox. I'm still not sure what was happening (they weren't going to my spam folder either, that I could tell), but I finally found those authenticator messages hiding somehow in the "All Mail" gmail folder on my iphone. It was weird and frustrating, but once I got past that, everything has been smooth sailing.
Some of the negative comments from older reviews really don't seem to apply anymore. You can easily group speakers into sets when you want to play music in multiple rooms at once. The Sonos app integrates with Amazon Music, Spotify, Sirius XM, etc. It's also not true that you have to plug at least one speaker directly into your router or Ethernet anymore. The entire set can be fully wireless.
Other Pro's: Other than much higher sound quality, the Sonos are much better at knowing which speaker to activate when you want to chat with Alexa. With my old Echo speakers, if I said "Alexa," I would often get a speaker answering me from two rooms down the hall for some reason. I ended up using four different wake words to try to prevent that from happening (which was annoying). Now, even though I have a Sonos device in my kitchen and one only ten feet away in my living room, it's 100% accurate in always activating the closest device, and not trying to respond to my voice commands from a speaker on the other side of the house. I was also having problems with the Echo speakers (five of them grouped together throughout the house) where they would often have one or two speakers drop out of the group when I played music for more than a few minutes. I also was getting music that would crackle or hiss on the Echo speakers between songs, or would suddenly stop playing (and that was all streaming from the Amazon app, which you think would have had the least amount of those kind of issues with their own company's devices). None of that happens anymore with my Sonos.
Cons: The Sonos aren't bluetooth compatible, if that's important to you. Also, they're at least twice the size and weight of an Echo speaker, which could be a consideration depending on where you intend to put them. And finally, as I'd mentioned earlier, they're not cheap. But there's a reason you end up paying more than twice what an Echo speaker costs -- you're definitely buying a much higher quality sound.
