Cameras great! Bought it from Deal Factor who seems to be the only company selling the camera in Canada at the time. Went out this weekend to shoot, here area few of my results that i quickly processed. (Shot in Raw, processed in Lightroom CC) (If you wanna see more pics from the A6500 I'll be posting more pics at @karandosangh on instagram.)
Things I like: the autofocus the video recording capabilities from 4k to 1080p at 120fps the picture profiles such as slog2 that will be useful at times for landscapes the touch screen for focusing the in body stabilization system the electronic viewfinder and much more
Cons at the moment the only thing I dislike is the fact the screen isn't fully articulating
I love this little camera! For its small form factor relative to DSLR's, this thing can pack a punch! That's thanks to Sony's mirrorless technology. I had trouble deciding between the a6500 and the A7S II, but ultimately decided to go for the a6500 for its lens selection. Being an APSC camera, I can adapt my favourite lens; the Sigma 18-35mm EF mount. I've been mostly using this as a video camera for my hobby (my YouTube channel,) but I took a few pictures every here and there as well. I can say that it's a solid camera for both photographers and videographers, hobbyists and professionals.
However, being a vlogger myself, I am really disappointed in Sony for not including an articulated screen that can flip out/up to the front. They gave the much cheaper a5000 and the a5100 this feature, and I may have even gone for those had they been capable of shooting in 4K...
-Take the A6300 with a magnesium-alloy body, plus IBIS, plus overheating fixed and you'll get this. -I've taken it to a hot summer July in the badlands, filming slow motion and 4K and I never experienced any overheating issues. -I've handled the A6000 of a friend, and it's simply a fragile version of the beast of A6500's build quality. -Closest borderline to Sony's A7 lineup, unless they release an A6700. -I love the Hi+ Shutter Drive Speed for sports/fitness photography. It has definitely saved me from catching the right moment. -I also bought this with an NP-FW50 RAVPower Camera Battery Charger Set (Charger + 2 Batteries) to prolong my 6-hour day shoot of both sports/fitness photography and fitness videos for Instagram. -Rolling Shutter: 4K is noticeable. 1080p not so much. -However, the 6K supersampling to 4K really shows the detail of every strand of hair.
