Well, that was a short honeymoon. Finding myself in the market for another Blu-ray player, I chose this Sony BDP-BX370 because it was well reviewed here on Amazon. I plugged my brand-new unit in, saw the "Blu-ray" screen come on and...nothing. It would not open. It would not pull up a menu. It would do nothing. Digging into the reviews, I find that I'm not the only BX370 customer to experience this "freezing" problem. But I assumed those other people were just unlucky, or maybe just stuck with early models that had teething pains. Now I know better. This Blu-ray player is a 2021 model, according to the specs. Two years in, Sony should have had more than enough time to work the bugs out of it. But apparently not, if my experience is any guide. I am sending this Blu-ray player right back where it came from. I don't need a $200 doorstop. If you buy this unit, make sure your seller has a good return policy. You may very well need it.

I have used this player 3 times and now it is broken. SONY BDP-BX370 Purchased January 16, 2023. It won't turn off, won't acknowledge the remote, won't open/close, or use the power button. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. When plugged back in, the blueray logo stays on the screen until unplugged. If you google this item, it is a VERY common problem. BUT, the WORST part is to try to get any help on the product. Even though it is only 3 months old, Seller refuses to help me and directs me to Amazon, who directs me back to seller. Luckily, I purchased the extended warrantee and will attempt to return through that. DO NOT BUY THIS.

This Blu-Ray player is NOT intended for the UK market.

It is supplied with a 12 volt adapter which is designed to run from the 120 volt 60Hz American supply - this is stamped quite clearly on the adapter itself.

Come on Amazon you can do better than this. I live in the UK and I would expect you to supply an item which is compatible with the electricity supply here i.e. 230 volts 50 Hz. There is nothing to the contrary on your listing so I would have expected it to function rather than me having to return it.
